I purchased this 2019 Honda Civic from a Certified Pre-Owned Dealer on Feb 1, 2020 in Atlanta, GA and had it serviced on time for 20K and 30K. After the 30K service, eventually the car's A/C started blowing hot air, so I got it diagnosed from the nearest Honda service center (Curry Honda Atlanta, GA). They analyzed and stated that wrong freon has been filled to my car which had contaminated the entire A/C system and recommended to replace the A/C system absolutely. They gave an exorbitant quote of $5700 to replace the A/C system and I had to decline it as it was 10% of the car value.
I spoke to the manager at Curry Honda later to check if there's any alternative and she conveyed to send out an email / call to Honda Customer Service for further help on the issue. When I reached out to Honda Customer Service on 07/18/2022 and discussed about my concern, the customer support representative listened patiently and clarified that she will forward the case to a case manager. However, it's not going to resolve as early as expected. She said it might take days, weeks or months to get a resolution from Honda and not to have any expectations whether the case will be resolved favorably or not.
I have a copy of all the service reports that I got from Honda Carland Center since I bought the car and have submitted to Honda for their reference. I conveyed my concern to the representative how this car is important to me and also informed her that my wife is pregnant and use it for my work and doctor visits. It really painful that my car's A/C died within 2.5 years of purchasing the car. This will be my last Honda car and I will never ever purchase a Honda car again in my life.
I read lots of articles from vehiclehistory.com about A/c recalls for 2016-2020 Honda Civic - https://www.vehiclehistory.com/articles/honda-civic-air-conditioning-recalls-to-know-about, and now I regret my decision for buying a Honda car. I used to have a good belief of them, but now it's no more. Please be mindful and think 100 times before you buy Honda car.
