At around 30,000 miles the vehicle started stalling when cold. We would start the car and before you could switch from park to drive the engine would stall. It has been getting worse ever since. We now have 100,000 miles on the car and now the car will stall when pulling from a stop which leaves us dangerously exposed in intersections on a regular basis. It seems like a simple problem of the car idling at too low of an RPM when cold, however Honda insists there is no problem. We had taken it to Honda a few times while still under warranty. Honda insists there is nothing wrong because no engine codes are coming up. We have replaced all spark plugs and all ignition coils and that did not fix the problem. Honda even had the car hooked up to the computer while it stalled and still insists there is nothing wrong with the car. The car is no longer under warranty so we will be taking it to an independent mechanic to see if the problem can be properly diagnosed.
In the morning, I turn the car on and put the car into gear and begin to move. When I come to my first stop the car stalls out. This happens every morning. Once I start the car back up it runs fine and does not stall out. I have searched many blogs and see that many people are having this issue. I would like a recall to be made for this since it seems to be a common problem on Honda Fit models 07/08. The contact owns a 2007 Honda Fit. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the vehicle momentarily stalled and restarted on its own. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure had since recurred on an intermittent basis. The failure mileage was 65,000.
TL- the contact owns a 2007 Honda Fit. The contact was driving 20 mph when the vehicle misfired and the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileages were 131,000. Kmj
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Fit. The contact stated the vehicle had a blown head gasket which caused the engine light to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the problem as a blown head gasket and cylinder head and repaired it at the owners expense for $3000. Two weeks later, the engine light started to illuminate again. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who informed her that it would cost an additional $1200 to repair the engine. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 89,000. Updated12/6/11
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Fit. While driving any speed, the contact stated that the vehicle felt as if the engine was rotating and the engine responded as if the vehicle were going to stall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they replaced the spark plugs;however, the vehicle continued to stall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The current mileage was 96,000. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000. Updated 08/01/11 the consumer stated the vehicle constantly misfires and there is constant speed stutter. The consumer stated the problem began after the recall repairs were done.
