I brought the car to Honda of Fort Worth because A/C was not cooling and was making a loud noise when engaged. Dealership replaced compressor with aftermarket compressor and sent me on my way. I picked it up and went to work. On the way home from work, I noticed the A/C was not working at all. I took it back to the dealer and they said the condenser and the new compressor was bad - due to "black death". When the compressor died it sent shards of metal throughout the A/C system contaminating and ruining the entire system. Maybe this is a Honda only issue? I've never heard of this before. They said the coil was also bad, but I could not afford to replace at that time. I was cautioned not to use A/C which I agreed. When we went to pickup the car, the A/C was on and blowing on high. I complained to service manager and he agreed to take the car back and investigate. Weeks later and another replacement compressor, dealership states that aftermarket compressor does not fit properly causing leaks in the coolant system. So now they are replacing the compressor (AGAIN) with a genuine Honda compressor. Meanwhile, I haven't had the car for about a month and I'm out about $4,000.

I was shocked to find with my first Google search a similar problem with the Honda Accord. It was no surprise to the service adviser when I turned the car in. He told me as I gave him the keys: If its road debris hitting the condenser is not covered. An hour later he calls me in and tells me: It is road debris so its not covered.

I was born at night but not last night. If the car is designed so that during normal highway driving a rock can enter underneath the hood and stop the operation of the vehicle. This is a design flaw.

They will either fix it and no cost and throw in a car wash, or we are going to make it to the Help me section of the local TV news.

Ridiculous.
