While pulling slowly into a parking space in a shopping center in Granada Hills, CA, the car accelerated after I lifted my foot off the gas pedal, jumped the curb. It stopped only after I slammed on the brakes, but landed in the middle of the sidewalk, bumped a concrete column damaged it and finally stopped a short distance from a store front. By pure luck, no pedestrians were in the area but could have resulted in serious bodily injury.
The body shop checked the accelerator but could find no problems. Unintended acceleration occurred on two previous occasions. I intend to notify the Honda dealership where I purchased the car, but expect no resolution. I am afraid to drive car and intend to trade it for a different model car, but in no event will I purchase another Honda.
