The contact owns a 1999 Honda Passport. The contact stated while driving 55 mph in the rain, the driver's side windshield wiper stopped functioning. The vehicle was driven onto the emergency lane where the contact noticed the rod for the windshield wiper was detached. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 132,000. Passenger side capped rod just dropped off nipple. Updated 11/10/2011
