problem #3

Nov 042018

Kona Limited 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 11,246 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

BCW system automatically shuts down while driving. Highway, no bad weather or mud/grime on sensors in rear bumper. This now has happened 2 times at 8960 and now 11246. Button in no way was pushed and if so this would not result in an error message and illumination of a warning triangle. Pushing button to turn back on does nothing to resolve. System comes back on about 15 min after going out but in that time leaves you without the system. Has been a eye opener to the poor quality of Hyundai and its safety software. Others have reported same issue but dealership has no clue or a fix.

blind collision warning shuts down

MY DEALER DOES NOT SEEM TO WANT TO FIX THIS ISSUE THEY KNOW IT IS THERE. ONE EXCUSE AFTER ANOTHER. I GUESS ALL NEW HYUNDAI'S HAVE THIS PROBLEM. CAR IS ONLY 2.5 MONTHS OLD ALREADY HAVING SEVERAL ISSUES. HYUNDAI CANADA NEEDS TO STEP UP. WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HYUNDAI.

Kona Limited 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,100 miles

While driving the blind collision warning system shuts down automatically. Error code comes up stating this system has shut down and orange triangle appears as an idiot light. The button was never touched and pushing the button will not turn the system back on. Then randomly the system comes back on 15 min or so later leaving you wondering what happened and concerned.

This is not a KONA issue but a Hyundai issue as others have experienced this in other models. Also the sensors in the rear bumper are clean from prior inspection day before while inspecting the underneath rear.
