Dealer could not find or know of the problem the first time I had it looked at.Service manager was clueless. In researching the problem, came upon a web page with other Hyundai owners who had the same problem across various models and mileages.
Had another dealer mechanic work on the problem and he knew of the issue in other vehicles. Delphi brake system in these vehicles. Root cause is brake pads getting hung up on the sliders. Mechanic grinded off about 1/8 inch of brake pads and alittle off the sliders. Have not had any other problems after finding a mechanic who knew of the issue. Hyundai has a Technical service bulletin on it, but not with a permanent solution. Hyundai will not owe up to a significant problem with their pre 2008 vehicles.
