problem #2

Santa Fe Calligraphy 2.5 Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

Engine/drivetrain hesitates then lurches 1st to 2nd gear. The problem manifests itself only when engine is hot and I attempt to accelerate from a dead stop (such as a traffic light). All other shifts are OK. This issue is more than an annoyance and could be dangerous if traffic conditions require quick, even acceleration.

Dealer claims this is “normal” for vehicles with dct transmission.

Santa Fe Limited 2.5L Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,200 miles

This vehicle stumbles and lurches when taking off. Did not notice it too much during test drive but now it is very evident. I was worried this would rear it's ugly head when I saw the vehicle had dual clutch transmission. Had this with previous 2015 VW GTI but not to the level of this Santa Fe. Wish I would have spent more time on test drive but you tend to play with other features then (my fault for not focusing).

I definitely would not have purchased if I had encountered what I am experiencing now. The magazine road tests call this "annoying", much more than that. Will be interesting to see how thing go when it is snowy and slick outside.
