After having my brake switch "fixed" in March 2012 my electronic stability control (esc) light and downhill assist light again went on in December 2012. The work was performed by a Hyundai dealership in Scottsdale Arizona. They claim "Switch Assy-Stop Lamp (4P). Verify the concern found code C1513 for brake light switch error replaced brake switch and test drove for 5 miles all works fine". Again, supposedly "fixed".

I had this problem fixed twice in 2012 and fixed per the recall in 2013. But the part went again in September of 2015 only days after getting my 2011 Tucson back after the intake manifold went. I took it to the Hyundai dealership and complained really well (and contacted Hyundai corporate) so they fixed it for me under warranty even though I was over the mileage. After all, this is the 4th time this problem has been "fixed" in my car so I think it should be done at no charge to me.

The dealership "replaced stop lamp switch. Cleared code and retest with normal operation at this time".

So "fixed" yet again ... I am getting a different car by a different maker.
