Bought the Tucson in Oct 2015 in Sydney Australia. I noticed that from time to time if I was in traffic and attempted to switch lanes and would depress the pedal for acceleration there was a lag. It was dangerous since cars were honking me since I entered their lane and almost came to a stop. I went to the Dealership(Arncliffe Hyundai in Sydney) and presented my problem where they took for a drive and could not find a problem. Over the last 5 months, it happens more and more and I took to the dealer again and same thing-cannot replicate the issue. The response has been-No one has such problem. It is disturbing that I now see many with the same issue but Hyundai and its dealers are unwilling to deal with the issue.

I have come to this conclusion:

I have this problem usually after I have come to a stop or near stop and make a move to accelerate(not usually from a dead stop but with a bit of movement) a enter the "dead zone". I thought it may have been an accelerator issue but have since concluded that the issue seems to be the transmission and accelerator are not getting the same signals and are conflicted for a few seconds(to ma an eternity) until they bot are told to accelerate. If this is a software issue, sounds plausible or an acceleration issue. Either way, the slight delay is dangerous for the driver and the public and does need Hyundai to come forward and deal with the issue. I truly like the vehicle and would purchase another in a few years if they come clean and resolve this issue. If this is not solved, I most surely will NOT purchase another Hyundai of any model since this issue is a global issue and everyone has a similar experience. I also purchased a Mazda CX3 around the same time for my wife and comparing the performance of the 2,the Mazda is far more responsive. Hyundai needs to take this issue on as serious as it could have life threatening consequences
