engine problem
My 2007 Hyundai Veracruz often acts like it isn't getting sufficient gas when I drive - especially at about 35 mph. At higher speeds, I haven't noticed this problem.
The car sputters or jerks going at that speed, especially going uphill (even a small incline sometimes causes the problem). I have taken the car to my Hyundai dealer four times with the same problem. They tell me they cannot find a code to show them the problem. So...according to them, there is no problem.
My check engine light goes on for a while and then off again. My car has "sputtered" like this for months. The worst incident was this past week. The chassis actually felt like a giant was shaking it backwards and forwards for about a 1/2 block. It is very annoying and worrisome that the engine will cut off completely in traffic. I never really know when it is going to happen, although I did predict it last evening when my wife was driving the car.
I asked her to do 35 mph on an upcoming incline in the road. Sure enough!! The car "sputtered" so that you could actually feel a slight lurching motion forward and back. It only lasts a few seconds and then drives like normal.
If anyone knows the cause/cure for this problem, I sure would like to hear about it.

We never had it fixed permanently, because the dealership never really "fixed it". The ECU would store a "cylinder #3 misfire". The dealer would replace the spark plug and the coil on plug assembly. But the problem would resurface again several months later. Sometimes, just shutting off the engine for an hour would solve the problem. The weird thing is, that it was always cylinder #3.
