CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Veracruz has no complaint trends to worry about. Heck, it hardly has any complaints at all. One issue to look out for is trouble starting due to oil leaking onto the alternator, but even that was was fixed during a 2014 recall.

ABS and ESC lights are on. Was told it was a ABS sensor/hydraulic issue. The part is $2500 the dealer says. I found several other complains online about 2008 Veracruz having this issue. The car only has 50,000 miles on it.

Pulled into parking place and went to place Veracruz from drive to park and it jumped forward a little and gear shift was locked the ESC light did come on showing "off". I would not allow me to shift into park and brake pedal was locked. I was only able to put into neutral and turn Veracruz off and apply emergency parking brake. Doors will open but will not turn engine over. Lights flash as if but will not start. There is no dashboard lights to indicate anything wrong, the ESC light went away. I was pulling into parking spot and not driving down the road. My VIN is not in recall but should be looked into.

The ABS light, ESC light, traction control light and AWD light all illuminated. The dealership tried twice to diagnose the problem, but could not locate any codes for it. The third time the issue arose, the dealer decided that there is an issue with the ABS sensor. The vehicle is a 2008 Veracruz purchased in May 2009. I was told that the vehicle was just past the warranty period and that Hyundai would not cover this item. It appears that this is becoming a common problem with this vehicle, as there have been at least 15 complaints on the NHTSA site and many more listed in the Hyundai forums online. Please investigate this issue and see if a recall is warranted. Thank you.

Driving on interstate 1-285 taking exit 7 to walmart when all dash board lights such as battery light, ABS, cruise, starting flickering and suddenly car just shut off while in motion. While car shut off it was still rolling and car would not shift in park, brakes and steering wheel locked, and key would not release from ignition. If I hadn't told my cousin to jump out, my family and I would have crashed in the back of a parked car at walmart. The consumer stated both brake lights as well as the headlights had to be replaced twice. Updated 12/02/14
