The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Veracruz. While the contact was seated in the front passenger seat, the passenger door flew open when the driver made a left turn. The failure almost caused the contact to fall out of the vehicle. The contact stated that the door would not remain closed on its own and he had to hold the door closed. The vehicle was taken to napleton's West palm beach Hyundai (2301 okeechobee blvd, West palm beach, fl 33409) and the door was repaired; however, the failure recurred four times to all the doors except the rear driver's side door. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 65,000.

In the 2.5 years I've owned my 2011 Hyundai Veracruz, 4 door handles have broken from the inside. The first happened within a year of owning the car and was the driver's side door. The handle became embedded into the door and could not be pulled. The door could only be opened from the outside (or by rolling down the window and reaching my arm outside through window and pulling on the handle from the outside). This presents a serious safety risk in that the driver is unable to get out of the vehicle quickly in an emergency. The dealership replaced the handle and said they had never seen it happen before. Since then it has happened 3 more times (passenger door, rear door on passenger side, and again on driver's side). I have no children and am usually the only one driving the vehicle, so it doesn't receive much wear and tear. When the rear door handle broke, the door was unable to be opened from the inside or the outside. Can you imagine having a child in the car and being unable to get to them? this time when the driver's side door broke again, it also quit responding to lock/unlock button pushes, making the situation even more unsafe. The Hyundai dealership has said that it is a poorly designed part and that it will continue to happen but that there is not a new part and that, once my warranty expires, I will have to pay for all of these repairs myself. They also had no comment about my safety concerns with the vehicle. Having the driver or passengers be unable to exit the car quickly is a very serious safety concern and this needs to be addressed. My email to Hyundai usa has gone unanswered.

When opening the door, the interior driver's door handle was catching on the door panel. This went on for several months until I pulled the mechanism to open the door and the handle broke. The plastic part physically broke. I now have to roll down the window electronically and open the door from the outside. Exiting in an emergency would be extremely difficult.

While opening driver's interior door handle, handle broke making it impossible to open the vehicle from the inside. The passenger door handle broke 3 months ago. The vehicles interior door handles keep breaking which makes an emergency exit from the vehicle extremely difficult.
