The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Veracruz. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20V705000 (engine and engine cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to dickson city Hyundai (1519 scranton carbondale hwy, scranton, pa 18508, (570) 291-5252) where it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that while driving, the interior and exterior lights started to dim before the vehicle stalled. The contact had the vehicle towed to the same dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the valve cover gasket had leaked and allowed oil to get onto the alternator. The valve cover gasket, alternator, and serpentine belt were replaced. The vehicle was started and began to shake before stalling. The vehicle was towed back the same dealer but not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 66,564. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

While driving with headlights on, when the turn signal is used, the headlights turn off. This happened once prior to this vehicle and the dealer replaced the switch assembly under warranty. It is now occurring again; however, I was told it is out of warranty. My research finds that this is a common problem with some Hyundai models and Hyundai is not offering to resolve it. This is a safety issue that should be addressed.

Headlights flash/flicker and/or turn off for a few seconds when right turn indicator is activated while headlight switch is in the "on" position. At times headlights stay out until turn indicator is deactivated. Vehicle does not have to be moving. Rarely replicated on purpose for verification.

High and low beam head lights are not adjustable individually. Choice #1=low beam at proper angle and high beam aimed at the top of trees ahead. Choice #2= high beam straight ahead and low beam 20 feet ahead of vehicle. Either way is unsafe. Hyundai knows of this problem but do not want to do anything about even though there is a remedy published in the internet.
