This recall only replaces the front cylinder bank cover gasket, but there's oil leaking on to my engine from the other valve gasket cover too. Hyundai wants to charge me $600 to replace that. The car has stopped on the road in the middle of me driving it twice (both in March 2021) - luckily no crash as it was in a residential area. I've paid over $1000 in repairs as Hyundai didn't have a recall 'solution' despite the car not working. I'm including the receipt for the alternator replacement as well as proof of the (first - there were multiple) battery replacements before there was a 'solution'. Hyundai won't reimburse me for these.

The dealer edmond Hyundai was notified and advised that parts were not available for the recall remedy. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure or the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

Vehicle has oil leaking onto alternator. Took to dealer to have fixed per recall 197. Dealer said problem did not exist and instead tried to charge me for multiple other repairs including damage they did to vehicle while performing inspection. If you put your hand on the back of the alternator, your hand comes out with oil on it.

The 2012 Veracruz was purchased in August 2015, from waldorf Hyundai, waldorf Maryland. December of 2015, the dealership replaced the battery under warranty. 2016, the alternator failed and was replaced under warranty. 2017 the spark plugs failed and was replaced at my expense. 2018 the valve cover gasket failed and the dealership (waldorf Hyundai) refuse to cover the repair cost. Under protest and a complaint filed with Hyundai corporate July 2018, the gasket was repaired. January 2019, the spark plugs failed and the dealership refused to cover the repair. Second complaint filed with Hyundai corporate, and currently we are disputing if Hyundai should cover the repair cost. Upon purchasing this vehicle, the dealership never disclosed the 2014 recall for this vehicle's electrical system failure. The gasket has failed at least twice since I have owned the vehicle and the alternator, spark plugs, and battery have been replaced. The vehicle has stalled on the highway each time having to be towed to waldorf, Hyundai. The vehicle is a safety hazard due to sudden loss of power on multiple occasions, and has proven to be unreliable. Hyundai does not have a solution to the recall ( 14V415000) in 2014, and the vehicle should have never been sold. The vehicle service records are available at the dealership.
The car would not start. Then the engine area began smoking and then a fire sparked. The fire department had to be called to put the fire out. The car was at a gas station and was not moving.
This is regarding a recall to my 2012 Hyundai Veracruz. In November 2014 I had the front valve cover replaced under a recall because it was leaking. It recently started leaking again. When I called the dealership, they said that there was no recall on my vehicle and that I would have to pay for the repair. I writing to inform you that this is still an issue. My vehicle only has 63K miles on it, all maintenance is performed on or ahead of schedule and is garage kept. I paid for the repair out of pocket at a repair shop other than the dealer. This is not an issue that should reoccur with 4 years to a vehicle that is so well maintained. The invoices for both repairs are attached in a pdf file. If other customers are reporting this issue, I believe a second recall needs to be issued. Thank you.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer (hanlees Hyundai in fremont, California), but the cause of the failure was not yet determined. In April of 2015, the vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 14V415000 (engine and engine cooling: Engine). Approximately 2,000 miles later, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the failure was repaired. Approximately 15,000 miles later, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 17,000.
The fix for recall NHTSA campaign number: 14V415000 failed in less than two years. The head gasket leak apparently returned and created an alternator failure that led to a loss of power and acceleration on the highway and eventual stall out. The vehicle was repaired, but I incurred costs associated with a new battery and the deductible on my service contract. The resolution of the recall needs to be investigated for failure.
Went in for a recall (campaign 121) to the dealership. The repair was done incorrectly causing more problems. The dealership agreed to re due just the problem but failed to clean residua (oil all over engine and parts) this caused the parts to fail upon driving. Filed a complaint to Hyundai and had no results on paying for the damages (repairs). The 1st incident occurred while driving on the highway with heavy traffic. The drive belt shredded causing vehicle to stop. The 2nd incident occurred while driving on main road. The alternator failed while driving. The recall states replace alternator if any oil contamination is found which was not. I need help to get the repair cost paid for for faulty work.
