We've had this 2005 Jaguar X type wagon from new, and we really love it. For the most part, it's a good car. However, it has had pattern failure of certain parts. It's had 4-6 front door handle failures. Each one is 750-900$ The front seat height adjustment motor fails (usually a small plastic gear. At least a dozen of these at 500-1000$. Add to that the transfer case and automatic transmission seem to last only 50-100,000 miles We're ready for another replacement on both. Beyond that, a really enjoyable car, great for long trips and highway driving, great in snow. Between regular failures, expensive parts and expensive service, this car is a budget buster! Since these are 'pattern' failures, buying used parts is no solution.
