I just wanted to let people know that Chrysler is fixing this problem on 2008 Jeep Compass. I bought mine march 2016. During a routine oil change our mechanic showed us the crossmember. It was rusted thru & had big holes. I called dealership where I bought it. The salesman said "what do you want me to do about it?". I said this did not happen in the 2 yrs I've had it so it had to be like that when I bought it. Salesman said "yeah it probably was." I said that's probably why the original owner got rid of it. Same rude comment as seen above. I then showed him the 104 point checklist that was clearly marked no rust when I bought it. He blamed my mechanic & said he should have found it sooner. My point is CALL CHRYSLER. They extended factory warranty on the 2008 to 10 yrs. They will fix it but you must call. Even if you aren't the original owner. Thanks
