safety issue. Have to gauge traffic a lot better than I normally would because I'm not sure there is enough power to get me where I need to go. Again, vehicle is paid for, don't want a payment but want a vehicle that works like it should.

Compass

  • Automatic transmission
  • 36,000 miles

I purchased my 2008 Jeep Compass with 12 miles on it back in 2008. During the early weeks of February 2011, I noticed how the car would tremble when I would hit 45 miles per hour. the front tires made a noise as if it was forcing itself when I put it in drive. I drove it to the dealership and had to leave it for a week. They were busy working on other cars and no one was available to check it. I finally received a phone call from dealership mechanics stating that I need a new transmission. Hello??? How does that happen? I have owned cars that have gone past 100,000 miles and I never had to replace a transmission. I was very disappointed with the "warranty" that Jeep claims to have. I had to leave my car and I was given a rental for 5 days. Jeep covers rentals for only five days. I wish it would have taken five days for my car to be repaired. Instead I had to wait three weeks for transmission because Chrysler was out of transmission. Why would they be out, how may other Compass have had to get it replaced. The part finally got here and it took the mechanic 6 more days to replace it. I was under the impression that Jeeps were meant to last. Apparently they are not. I would never recommend a friend to buy a Jeep, its the worst car.
