On highway driving, the indicator light would come on indicating the transmission is over heating. Per the manual, this requires pulling off on the side of the road and letting the engine rest for 15-20 minutes. The overheating causes the transmission to be slowed down below 40 mph which is dangerous when on the highway.
This has happened several times over the last 2-3 years and 50k miles. The last time in December 2014 the recommendation was to replace the transmission. Luckily it was covered under the extended warranty.
