The vehicle was taken in for a recall of the catalytic converters and PCM software, July 2019. May 2021, while driving at highway speeds the transmission temperature light illuminated and an un-commanded deceleration occurred to about 10 mph, it would go no faster got to the nearest off ramp and to a rest area sat for an hour, then the vehicle performed normally. May 13, 2021, took the vehicle to the repair facility no trouble codes were set but they replaced the transmission filler tube. A few days later the light illuminated again but no adverse driving conditions occurred. June 18, 2021, at highway speeds the vehicle decelerated to 10 mph a service engine light illuminated a transmission overtempt light also and made it home about ten miles at no more than 10mph, 19 aug 2022 drove the vehicle at a few mph to my local Jeep dealer for check engine and no power.

Faulty tipm shortly out some electrical relays. Stationary cooling fans don't shut off even when ignition key is off. Ac blower fans intimidate on and off. At Chrysler dealership for 10 days. All relays changed 'all sensors change. Tipm diagnosis says short in tipm. $1500 part after repair of relays and sensors. Total $2500+. bill. Awaiting new tipm to come in. Chrysler can't guarantee that that will fix the problems.

Engine cutting out and stalling, not getting above 45 without jarring and trying to stall out. I have had kendall auto group in soldotna, Alaska trying to diagnose and repair since March 2019. They have had star cases opened with Chrysler technicians. It's been a guessing game. They have returned the car to me several times saying it was fixed. Only to have it stall out on me. Once having to get it towed back to there facility. At times it was over a month before any communication to be.

Around 80,000 miles my car stopped accelerating and appeared to stay in 1st gear (I drive an automatic). Luckily, I was driving on a residential street. Then the check engine light, the traction light, and a red lightning bolt light turn on. When I took the car to the dealership they diagnosed the car needs a new throttle body, wiring, and a new battery. The battery ended up failing shortly after I brought it into the shop.

I bought this car from a dealership 3 months ago and it had 41,000 miles on it. I have since driven an additional 3,000. This morning as I was getting on the highway, the 'electronic throttle control' light came on and caused my car to stall twice. The highest speed I was able to go was 30 mph. This is very dangerous as I was in motion on a busy highway. When I bought the car, the dealership claimed to have checked the car entirely for problems yet I am having to carry it back for maintenance. I read another complaint on this discussion from earlier in the week with this same problem, and I think it needs to be addressed.

"takata recall" my Jeep goes to the dealership for everything. I recently just got an inspection. My Jeep has 67,000 mile on it. I have had 2 recalls, in which have not been fixed due to lack of parts. When I got my Jeep back after my inspection, I notice the vehicle seemed to be lagging when I hit the gas pedal. This morning a light flickered on then off, so I looked in my user guide to see what it was. It was the electronic throttle control light. I was in the middle of accelerating onto an interstate, which could have been fatal. I am more than pissed right now. I had been a devoted Chevy fan for years, and wanted top give Jeep a shot. But at this point, I'm ready to ditch this lemon, and go back to my Chevy roots.

The contact owned a 2013 Jeep Compass. While driving approximately 45 mph, the driver saw flames in the rearview mirror. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver saw flames underneath the hood. The driver attempted to open the hood, but was unable to do so. The fire department was called, but before they arrived, there was a loud explosion and the vehicle became momentarily engulfed in flames. The vehicle was totaled and the remnants were towed to a tow yard. A fire report was filed. There were no injuries reported. The dealer was contacted (California motors, santa ana, ca, 714-515-6100) and stated that there was no recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that an investigator would be sent out, but no one showed up. The contact did not receive notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16V668000 (seat belts, air bags). The failure mileage was approximately 38,000. Consumer stated Jeep/Chrysler instead of taking responsiblity for a malfunction on the 2013 Jeep Compass that engulfed in flame and could have trapped my son inside after the doors wouldn't open as also effected my credit amongst the other problems caused by the event. While accelerating on an on ramp the electronic throttle control began to chock off power to the engine and began an eradicate pulsation causing the car to slow down. There was a delay and then the throttle kicked in. The indicator light turned off. About fifteen minutes later the car was slow to accelerate. The warning light, flickered but did not stay on. The engine only has 46,000 miles on it and is mostly driven on flat roads.

I was driving on the pa turnpike approximately 65 mph, when I stepped on the gas and the car would not accelerate. My car was basically coasting as cars and tractor trailers were flying by me at 70+ mph. I managed to get off the road safely, and all the lights on my dashboard were going crazy. Had the car towed to the dealership and they told me it's the "throttle body" - regulates the flow of fuel to the engine - electrical failure.

Recurring problem- transmission fluid temperature light has gone on and vehicle slows or stops abrubtly during 1 hour or longer trip on highway. Had the car in Jeep dealer 3 times. Contacted Jeep corporate directly, they didnt return last calls. No progress. Port jeff Jeep dealer (where we purchased 6 months ago) is servicing vehicle. Concerned about the inability to accelerate as problem occurs on highway- sudden drop in speed poses a danger. Dont want to wait till rear endeded. 4 events on 11/19/2016, 11/30/2016 and 12/12/2016.

Front driver's side exterior side view mirror is a motorized mirror and has a heating element inside the mirror. Something electrical inside the mirror caused enough heat for the mirror to melt and go on fire. The vehicle was parked, unoccupied and not running at the time of the fire.
