The consumer states that he had taken his vehicle in to the dealer, and explained that he would place the vehicle in park, and it still moved backwards. The consumer was told that he needed a new transmission and was given a price of $2600 along with another $127 for the diagnostic cost. The consumer then recieved a recall notice from the dealer, which was to install a secondary detent system onthe vehicles floor shifter. (when the shifter isn't placed fully into the park position and leaves the engine running, the vehicle may unexpectedly move rearward after seeming to be stable)-could injure those in and/or near the vehicle. NHTSA # 02V053000. The consumer demands the monies spent on the repair be returned.
