The contact owns a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The contact owns maxim rotors model# 5115. While driving her vehicle she noticed a clinging sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. After examining the vehicle she noticed that the front passenger side rotor had separated into two pieces. The rotors have not been diagnosed by a dealer. No repairs were made. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileages were unavailable.

While trying to stop, while my foot was on the brake pedal, the engine started racing and was not able to stop, I ended up hitting the car in front of me, 2 car passengers went to the hospital with minor injuries. Contacted Jeep and car was checked by factory expert at local dealer, nothing defective was found with brakes. This has happened 2 times before this accident. Fortunately, I was able to stop. Also I had to replace all 4 rotors with less than 18,000 miles, complained to Jeep and was told that rotors are normal wear and tear item and how long they last depends on your driving habits. I just heard on tv that there is a recall for brake failure, contacted Jeep and was told no, there is no recall at this time. Please let me know if there is a recall on 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee for brake failure. Eq-10203460-4200. Date received 12/12/07 New Jersey police report. Updated 12/12/07

Rotors are warped and pull to right. The problem started with less than 15K miles on the vehicle. It appears to be similar in nature to 1999-2004 Jeep. Dealer says I can just pay to have them turn rotors!

I purchased a 2004 special edition Jeep Grand Cherokee in Feb 2003. This vehicle is strictly used for pleasure and currently has less then 18,000 miles. I do not live in the mountains where brakes are used excessively. The brake rotors were warped at 12,100 miles. The dealership refused to warranty and said there was not issue with the braking sytem. They are once again warped with now less then 18,000 miles. I called the dealership who blew me off and placed a complaint with Chrysler who is yet to respond, however I was given a reference number, reference number: 13282345 I had the rotors cut the first time and replaced with a GM product the second time. I did some research and know I am not alone in this and also noted that the company issued a notice to the dealerships in June of 04, yet they continue to deny any problem.
