Picked my 24 Grand Cherokee 4xe up from the shop on 1/15/26 after having to essentially rebuild my entire rear brake system (see other complaint). After picking my son up from school we went to the car wash, we live in Upstate NY and the ice packs onto the car and makes sensors not work properly so I was hoping a wash would help. I was a bit too far away from the machine when trying to pay so I opened my door (foot on brake pedal but still in Drive) and my parking brake engaged. I had to go through the steps of turning my parking brake on and off, putting my car in drive then park, etc. in order to move forward. Later in the day, my brake light turned on. Turning my car on and off didn't help, nor did attempting to turn my parking brake on or off, in fact, my car isn't acknowledging anything when I pull or push my parking brake. After work I will be taking it back to the shop.
