This is for a 2005 Jeep Liberty. Faulty speedometer. Was replaced 2 times within 2 years. Chrysler tsb indicates replacement of the rear differential fluid every year to resolve the problem. There is a problem with engineering if you have to do this. They will replace the speedometer for ~ $210 or change the fluid for $199 every year. Consumers are being held hostage for this annual charge for the fluid change as I have had my speedometer changed 2 times already. The maintenance schedule says nothing about this in schedule a. however the dealer refers to schedule B as what they recommend due to this issue. However, the book sites an exclusion in schedule B if your vehicle is used commercially, heavy hauling, snow plowing, of road use, etc. I have as of 08/06/2008 42,722 miles on this, and do to prescribe to the above exclusion.
