My brake system locked up. Leith on 5500 Capital Blvd, Raleigh NC 27616 was told about the situation. I spoke to Jay in Service, he sent two men to look at it. They arrived and Donald disengages the brakes. However, he told me, every time I enter the vehicle I have to disengage the brakes in order to drive. I ask why? He said it was the brake's lever was broken. But, I was informed by Jay in Service that the system locked up when the car reprogrammed itself behind replacing the old battery and putting in a new one. It didn't make sense to me.

So, I had the car towed to the above address of Leith dealership. I waited for them to call. Finally, I called them and they couldn't find my car. I was very concerned, I called Big Mack towing, who towed the car. They informed me the car was at Sport Durst Automotive. I called the service department there and spoke to Kurt. He informed me that the car was there. I told him it suppose to went to Leith on capital blvd. in Raleigh. He asked me what was the problem? I explained. He said I will take a look at it. He did and came to this conclusion, I need a new radio, and that way we can go into the settings through your radio to disengage the brake system. Because the radio light to the system was out. He said that will cost a little over $1,1000. I told him I will speak with Scott, case manager/Leith's customer car advocate at Leith headquarters. Scott and I have been talking on and off 11/20-12/1 about taking care of this problem.

On 12/1 he informed me that he would extend the customer care since the warranty has ended. He said Leith would pay the bill but I have to pay a portion of $350 or more but less than $400. I told him I don't have it and if I did I still wouldn't pay. Because I have been having numerous problems with this car; stalling, lights going on and off, hard steering, brakes, the car seems as if it has a transmission problem, use oil excessively, and seat belts problems three months into the car up until now.

And I purchase the car on May 18, 2018, brand new. Now, the car has been towed back to Leith on capital blvd. in Raleigh, NC 27616 where I brought the car. I spoke to Jay today-12/2/2020 again in service. I told him what Kurt said over at Sport Durst Automotive in Durham-Chapel Hill and he said Kurt was wrong, it's not the radio that needs to be replaced but the brake lever. Then, he said the car is here and the problem is being investigated. But, I thought you said the problem is a lever problem he informed me I will call you once we take a look at it again. To be continued...

If there's anybody out there can relate please let me know. I already have seen so many complaints about the Renegade since 2015-2020. The complaints are serious, even mine. I almost died numerous times in this car behind stalling and I have read other complaints that can concur. No wonder the statistics are showing the decline in purchases from 2015-2020. 2015-60,000, 2016-106,606, 2017-103,434, 2018-97,062, 2019-76,886. All Renegades need to be recalled immediately before someone dies or is severely injured if it hasn't already has happened. Please support me in this fight. Change come when you speak out!
