Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 16V352000 (air bags) and 16V290000 (air bags). The service writer indicated that the parts had been ordered. When the contact followed up to check the status of the repair, the service center manager indicated that the part was not available after the contact had been waiting over six weeks. The contact was uncertain of when the part would arrive. The manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to wait to receive the part from the dealer. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

S33 recall was established in May 2016, but all the dealers I contact state that the recall parts are not available. My Jeep was inspected by a Jeep dealer, but no parts available. Meanwhile, my daughter still drives this Jeep which could potentially be unsafe. I want my Jeep fixed under recall S33, but without the manufacturer providing parts to complete the recall, I am left driving a potentially unsafe vehicle due to the air bag clockspring defect.

The passenger side from air bag was issued a recall on July of 2016. They also said to avoid using that seat. The fix is still not available and I think that is an unreasonable amount of time to limit my use of the vehicle. There are only 4 seats total. I think you need to "get on" Jeep about this unreasonable safety recall delay.

Takata recall.I contacted the dealer, family Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in philadelphia, about fca recall # S33 (NHTSA recall # 16V-290) and was told that parts are not available. I am aware of the parts issue with fca recall # S43 / NHTSA # 16V-352 not being available. I tried to explain to the service person that I was referring to fca recall # S33 (NHTSA recall # 16V-290); however, she was adamant that parts were not available and that I would receive a notice when they were.

Takata recall-------- ok--I received a recall on the airbags months ago....in the recall it states that this problem is a "serious threat to your and your passengers safety" and should be remedied asap......"it could result in death.." called my dealer again today to see if I can get it fixed..I was told by the dealer the parts are still not available and the latest he has heard is months if not years away from either a fix or getting the parts........ what is NHTSA's position on this"? just drive the car and continue to take a chance that the problem will not occur..?? if it does and kills my grandson???? is anybody at NHTSA looking into this and do you have any power to force this company to produce a remedy to perhaps save some lives???? could it truly be months and months away from a fix???"
