Summary
New Safety Recall Advanced Communication ? N28060613 Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) announced a safety recall on certain 2012 and 2013 model year (JK) Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Some of the above vehicles may experience a condition where the power steering return tube contacts the aluminum transmission oil cooler tube. Continuous contact of the aluminum transmission oil cooler tube against the power steering return tube could cause a wear hole in the aluminum transmission oil cooler tube. This can result in a loss of transmission fluid which may damage the transmission and/or a loss of transmission function. Chrysler will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all involved vehicles to replace the power steering return tube and inspect the transmission oil cooler tube for damage. Damaged transmission oil cooler tubes will be replaced. Transmission oil cooler tubes that are not damaged will receive a protective sleeve. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established methods used in the past. We ask that you please take the time to ensure that your personnel are aware of this communication and are prepared to execute a customer friendly process for inquiries on involved vehicles.
