I have an appointment with the Prince Frederick, MD dealership in a week. They told me they could not schedule me until the end of the month but I persisted on getting the appointment. The vehicle had front end hubs replaced about 5 months ago at the same dealership for vibrating noise. The cost was $1397. It seems like major repairs began at the 37,000 mile mark... 1000 miles over the warranty.
2019 with 18,000 miles. Garage kept, and mainly driven on weekends. No suspension or steering mods. Death wobble happened while doing 70 and hitting a bump. Heading to the dealer. How does this just happen?
Steering damper is the problem, once I researched what a “death wobble†was online. Sadly, dealership played stupid - I'm assuming they were hoping to wind down the clock. I had to look up my own part recall. Calls aren’t answered, they state the part is back ordered & then mention it doesn’t matter that it’s a 2019 lease I can’t be covered for a loaner/rental. I’m sh*t out of luck until part comes in (it's been 2 months).
Shake started in 2019 but mild & I blew it off. It was a safety hazard by November 2020. Any suggestions? Does a “Lemon Law†cover this? Any suggestions are appreciated. Chrysler/Fiat clearly doesn’t seem to be assuming responsibility!
