My 2010 Kia Forte with only 147,312 miles on it has to have the engine replaced. I changed the oil EVERY 3000 miles. I bought my car in 2017 and it had a little over 60000 miles on it. It had a ticking sound but when I asked my mechanic, he said it could be a belt, so if it doesn't get any worse, don't worry about it. The ticking was always loudest in the morning when I would first start it up but it always had that tick.

This week I was at a stoplight and my car just cut off. Sounded to me like the alternator or battery but when two mechanics both told me the engine had to be replaced, I was devastated. A new engine was quoted at $5000. I found a used engine for $1700 and it cost me $1000 to get it installed...or at least that is what I was quoted. It is still in the shop waiting for the motor I ordered to arrive. I have seen all the complaints about the 2010 Forte motors and I have to agree that from what I have read, they need to be recalled!!
