CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND SINCE THEN THE CAR IDLES ROUGH AND SHUTS OFF.. VERY ANNOYING IN TRAFFIC ESPECIALLY AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS...NOT ALL THE TIME. IT DRIVES OKAY ON THE HIGHWAY, BUT IDLES ROUGH AND SHUTS OFF AT STOP LIGHTS. ADDED NEW AIR FILTER, OLD ONE WAS VERY FULL OF DUST. CHECKED PLUGS, OKAY. CHECKED FOR WATER IN GAS TANK, OKAY. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE AIR FILTER SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED? NOT ABOUT TO BE JERKED AROUND BY MECHANICS AND END UP SPENDING BOO-KOO MONEY AND STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM UNFIXED. HELP NEEDED. THANKS.

check engine light came on twice. dealer greased gas cap, light came on again and dealer reset light saying it was the same problem, told we would have to drive 5 hours to get it diagnosed with smoke test, light has come on again and now he says a recall has been issued and parts are on order..I can't find a recall on this car and don't know if parts are on order. Why have a check engine light if they are going to be on all the time?I should add our dealer is a satellite of a larger dealer 5 hours away.
