On 8/3/2025 the check engine light came on. Was told next available appt was 8/26 - go ahead and keep driving unless light blinks. Went to dealership and they said Powertrain/Engine issue. The car was bought 1/2020 and has 28,400 miles. It was in my husband's name. My husband died in 2024 so I needed to put car in my name. Kia is saying they will not honor the Powertrain warranty and the Extended warranty does not cover the work need either - because the car is in my name now. So, even though I have driven the car since day 1 and have paid for additional equipment put on it and have paid for maintenance and repairs - because my husband died - I am out of luck.
How does a 5 1/2 year old car with 28.400 miles driven by people in their 60's need an engine replaced?
AND
How does Kia refuse to honor their 10 yr/100,000 mile warranty because my husband died?
I purchased my 2020 Soul on 12/27/19. On 12/20 the car went in for the engine light coming on.
As of today 3/29/21, the car has been back 4 times for the same issue. They can not figure out what is gong on or what is wrong.
I will NEVER, purchase a Kia again. Today I called there 1-800 customer service department and I was treated like I was stupid. He filed a claim for me and told me to take it back to the dealership... grrrr.
Piss poor customer service.
