While pulling into my garage on September 11, 2021, the brakes on my 4-month old Kia Telluride AWD with ~4,500 miles failed. The brakes went limp, losing all pressure and went flat to the floorboard. Unable to stop, the Telluride subsequently crashed into the interior of the garage and forward momentum ceased after ramming into the brick foundation of the house; causing damage to the vehicle, my home and personal property. Once stopped, the Telluride was able to be put in park and brake functionality returned. A subsequent internet search indicates this is not an isolated incident and that Kia has a documented history of brake issues across several of its products.
A case was opened with Kia and they immediately towed the Telluride. Nine days have passed since the accident and they have been unresponsive to requests for assistance. They have not provided a loaner vehicle. They have not addressed the damage to my home or personal property.
I would highly suggest that interested shoppers consider alternatives or delay purchasing a Telluride until more service history is available. This is my first and last Kia. I have lost all faith and trust in Kia.
