My dashboard Is melting horribly. I have contacted Lexus on several occasions. I was told that I first needed to bring it the nearest dealership in my area to have to serviced and get an estimate. The service report stated that the dash was in fact melting and needed to be replaced. I followed up with another call to Lexus and was informed that it was out of warranty and that it could not be replaced. I indicated that issue Is by far not a warranty issue but in fact a defect in the material used to make the dashboard. The visibility on the driver side Is horrible and quite dangerous.

I would like to file a complaint concerning the dash in my Lexus. The dash is melting and creating a glare onto the windshield. I have spoken with several Lexus dealers and they are aware of the problem, but the manufacture has not had a recall at this time. The cost from the Lexus dealer is around $2500. After much research on the internet, this is not just a few cars with the problem.

The dashboard Is melting and the door side panels pieces are falling off as if the plastic Is old and dry. I contacted Lexus who told me that the Florida sun was too hot for the cars and that they were not at fault for this and also advised me that they would not cover the defects. Damage Is estimated at $ $1,200 per the dealer

The dashboard of my 2008 Lexus IS250 melts away everyday as well as the the drivers and passenger side door panels. The melted dashboard causes a glare directly in the viewing sight of the driver especially on really hot and sunny days here in South Florida. This causes driving vision to be impaired. The door panels and dashboard leave prints on your hands and fingers when they are touched.

I have a 2008 Lexus IS250 that Is out of warranty. The dashboard and door panels literally started melting. I contacted Toyota/Lexus a few months ago since not only was the dashboard melting by the day but the door panels are also melting ruining several pairs of pants. I was told that the vehicle was out of warranty & that there was nothing they could do. After several calls, I received a call from Lexus stating they would replace the dashboard but I was responsible for the labor. I told them I should not have to pay for anything since it's a manufacturer's defect but they said that the labor was my responsibility. So I went ahead and paid the labor and had the dash replaced. Although Lexus also agreed to replace my door panels, the labor cost of $1,300 was absurd and again my responsibility according to Lexus. I wasn't going to pay that amount that's crazy. So my door panels continue to melt. At this point I want to file a complaint to get reimbursed for the $600 labor I had to pay for the dashboard and would like Lexus to replace my door panel at no charge to me.

My whole interior is melting in my car. Large wet spots on dash that make visibility nearly impossible when the sun is shining in the car on the dash board. The cars door panels also have the same issue, which black residue gets on the skin and clothing after brushing up against it. The car is a safety and health hazard and the local Lexus dealership as well as the corporate office will not step in and own up to their defective interior. I have told them multiple times that this is a safety issue and they have no concern and tell me they deny any assistance because I am out of warranty. Please help!

I have noticed over the past 2 years my dash slowly getting shinier and more sticky to the touch. I have tried using quality car plastic/vinyl cleaners to resolve the issue but to no avail. In fact, the dash is so sticky that using a cloth to clean it causes fibers to adhere to the dash. The safety concern is that the shine is producing glare on the inside of the windshield which in turn makes it more difficult to see while driving (especially on sunny days when the sun is high). After doing some research online, it appears that this is a very common issue (especially for those living in warmer climates such as myself) and needs to be resolved for the safety of all drivers experiencing the issue.

Affected parts: -- dashboard & all 4 interior door panels -- my 2008 Lexus Is suffers from a well known issue among Lexus owners in southern states. The dashboard and interior door panels become almost playdoh like under normal use of the car. My dashboard Is extremely melted to the point that it becomes mirror-like in direct sunlight. This produces a white glare on the windshield, severly impairs daytime driving and makes the car liabilty to myself and others. Door panels that leave sticky residue on my clothing have to be babied so that they don't crumble or become even more marred than they already are. Since I'm just outside their warranty, the dealer declined to assist me financially and as of today corporate refuses to help other than to allow me to pay them out of pocket for something that should not even be an issue. I am the 2nd owner of this car as of last year and a Toyota customer since I began driving in 2007. I just want Toyota to own up to this defective product and do the right thing. This Is neglect on their part, not mine. I didnt make the melting dashboard, they made it when they chose to use sub-par materials to cut costs.

I have been complaining to the Lexus dealership, and then to corporate Lexus for several years about my dashboard and doors disintegrating, melting away. I have 47,893 miles on the car which is garaged the majority of the day/nights. I have had my car serviced and maintained solely at germaine Lexus of naples. This has been a huge consumer issue per the internet, as well as confirmed by the customer service rep I spoke to at Lexus. B Lexus has repeatedly offered to pay for half.....which I find ridiculous. I have a 2000 Isuzu rodeo with 125,000 miles, that has never been recalled, the dash, sunroof, and electronics still work....unlike my "luxury" Lexus. This should be a warranty item, it is not - rather, should not be a replaceable part like brakes, clutch, seat motor, etc. This is the dashboard in places that one is unable to access with any body part! thank you, I hope that there will be some resolve on this. It is definitely a wider spread issue than Lexus cares to admit out loud! [xxx], another sdisgruntled Lexus owner. When accident it get hot outside my dashboard starts to get soft and shiny and sticky.when it gets to that point in the middle of the day it creates a glare reflection on the front windshield that makes it hard to see. I try to bring this up to 3 separate Lexus dealership and the all of them don't want to take responsibility for the issue instead they accuse me putting some type of chemical over it which I have not put a thing over my dashboard or my door panels not even water. They don't really care about driving safety hazard for the consumer's safety, all they wanna do this just push us away and said it was something that we did or something that we put on the dashboard. And they claim that they have never heard about this issue before when I obviously do a search on the form a lot of consumers Is having this issue everywhere. Buying a $40,000 car we should not have to deal with this driving safety issue of the dashboard melting having a glad reflection on the front windshield that will cause an accident eventually and it will be a big lawsuit.
