Leaking brakes had to be fixed twice before recalled parts were available. When the last repair was done, dealership said they would reimburse us (since we paid full price) recalled parts labor that we had to pay for since they were on the recall. This has never happened even though we have tried multiple times to remedy. Dealership says they sent in paperwork to Ford twice for the reimbursement as they don't do that. Ford Motor Company says they dont do it that it is up to the dealer. In summary, recalled brakes were finally repaired but we had to pay full price for them though it says parts and labor would be free.

Brake pedal went all the way and touch body. It happened twice in two months and 2nd time resulted in to car wreck on 5 miles per hour speed. It is very disappointing Lincoln seems to know about the issue but took a long time to cover with remedy. * (recall related incident)

The contact owns a 2009 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated that while approaching a red light, the brake pedal was depressed to floorboard while attempting to bring the vehicle to a stop however, the vehicle failed to stop and the driver had to proceed through the red light with speed to avoid a crash. The brake pedal returned to normal function and the contact drove the vehicle to the residence. The contact also stated that on another occasion, the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19V904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) and contacted pacifico marple Ford Lincoln (3015 w chester pike, broomall, pa 19008, (888) 320-6221) and was informed that parts were not yet available at the dealer for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not available. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

We were sent a recall notice on the auto brake system January 2020. Local Lincoln dealer doesn't have parts to repair as of October 2020. The ABS light has came on right about the time of notification. Keep getting told that parts are not available to repair on the recall. If I wanted to pay for it then they could repair the problem. This is not satisfactory. Do I need to notify a better business bureau or what do I need to do to get the repair on breaks which could be a safety hazzard?

There was a recall issued by Ford for my vehicles brakes in December 2019.(manufacturer recall number19S54;NHTSA recall number19V904). This issue has still not been remedied. My last call to their service center I was told that they did not know when the parts would be available to make the repairs but also said they could replace the brakes and charge me over a thousand dollars and Ford would reimburse me eventually.

Re: safety recall notice 19S54/NHTSA recall 19V-904 2009 Lincoln Mkz VIN#[xxx] dear Lincoln concierge: I would like to file a claim pertaining to the safety recall listed above. I spent 4 months having braking issues and had my Lincoln towed 3 times because of brake problems. Following having these problems, I received a recall notice for brakes. Here is the timeline of my brake problems. 10/14/2019$422.96firestone replaced brake pads on front and back 11/2/2019 aaa towed Lincoln back to Firestone for brake failure 11/2/2019 Firestone replace calipers and pads on rear left 11/3/2019 Firestone brake pedal too soft 3/5/2020 aaa towed Lincoln back to Firestone for brake failure 3/5/2020 Firestone states air getting into brake line 4/22/2020$77.50aaa tows Lincoln to jones service center (car dealership) total brake failure, [xxx] membership fee 4/22/2019$1,623.95jones service center replace ABS hydralic unit 4/22/2019$30rental car from jones $2,154.41total expenses I have attached the documentation as listed above. Consequently, losing your brakes on I-95 is a very frightening experience, especially when going at a high rate of speed. I had two near misses on having a serious accident during brake failure with my Lincoln. I had to have the car towed 3 times which cost me a day of work each time because the car was not drivable. This recall came out on December 18,2019! it is a safety recall and still hasn't been resolved?! this is unacceptable!!!!! here is a copy of some of the report: NHTSA recall number: Opens new window takes away from VIN lookup section> 19V904 recall date: December 18, 2019 manufacturer recall number: 19S54 summary: On your vehicle, a valve in the hydraulic control unit of the anti-lock braking system may be stuck open. Safety risk: This may result in extended brake pedal travel required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. The condition does not result in a loss of braking function and the vehicle can be brought to a controlled stop.

On several occasions while owning this car, the brake pedal has gone almost to the floor after activation of the anti-lock brakes. The braking distance increases dramatically while the pedal remains very soft. It eventually (a few hours maybe) returns to normal function. While driving in this condition, it feels as if the car will not stop but it eventually does, but the brake pedal must be pushed almost all the way to the floor.

Nothing yet! are we going to wait until something does?! safety risk!!! taking way too long to get this resolved!!! this may result in extended brake pedal travel required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. The condition does not result in a loss of braking function and the vehicle can be brought to a controlled stop.

After ABS activation on a snowy road, break pedal needs much longer travel to engage brakes than before the ABS went off. Pedal feels spongy and requires much greater distance before the brakes feel like they begin to apply. Multiple ABS stops, 100 mile of travel and a day of not driving it have not made the problem any better. Car is 2009 Mkz with 81000 miles.
