Had all brakes replaced a month before this event, which happened in August 2019. Was driving and had to stop quickly on a wet road to avoid an accident. ABS kicked on normally. Afterwards the brake pedal was squishy and went to the floor, brakes had no feel, the only way to stop the car was to push brake pedal to floor after which car would slam to a stop. Brought in to dealership and they diagnosed it as a failed ABS hydraulic controller and failed master cylinder. Technician said: "ABS Hydraulic outlet/dump valve is stuck open not allowing pressure build up." Both the hydraulic unit and master cylinder were replaced by dealer, paid for by me.
Pretty scary having brakes randomly fail like that.
In December 2019, NHTSA announced a recall for this exact issue, I will be requesting reimbursement from Lincoln.
