This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Entering Kansas City on I-49 North approximately 55 mph, on 2/20/18, in inclement weather, the car in the middle lane spun out of control and T-boned my passenger door before turning and sliding down my right side. As the passenger in the Murano I felt the first hard impact against the door like a bomb went off yet side door airbag did not implode. I have pictures that show crease made at first impact and door bottom panel was bent outward. I called Nissan and reported this both to dealership and manufacturer. They are saying this is a side swipe and therefore does not require implosion. Only witness is other driver who admitted fault, may also be honest about how we were first hit. I have a very heavy SUV door on this car and always said it was a tank and would save our lives. I believe it was more the door design that saved us, and my husband's effective maneuvering, than an airbag that should have imploded.
