The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact was driving approximately 55 mph when he discovered that the vehicle would not down shift or up shift. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal to see if the vehicle would change gears but to no avail. The failure would only occur when driving up or downhill. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for the failure and he was advised by the dealer that the vehicle was performing as normal. The failure persisted and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where they replaced the rear differential, transmission hose and the radiator, but the repairs did not correct the failure. The dealer advised that the vehicle was performing as designed and there were no failures. The contact stated that the failure was persistent when driving up or downhill for the last four years. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 22,000 and the current mileage was 82,000.
