My driver's side headlight went out on 2/3/11 at 56,000 miles. I replaced the bulb. On 8/22/11, my passenger side headlight went out at 60,000 miles. I replaced the bulb. On 9/26/11, my driver's side headlight went out at 61,000 miles. I replaced the bulb. I purchased the bulb from auto zone and the manager there told me he has had 10 customers with Pontiac G6 vehicles come in reporting that the headlight bulbs continually go out. On 10/1/11, the driver's side headlight went out again at 61,300 miles. On 10/4/11, the passenger's side headlight went out at 61,400 miles. I called Pontiac corporate and they claim this is not a known issue with this vehicle. I took my vehicle to Firestone and they found a short in the headlight assembly. The headlights are working fine now. Firestone said this is the 3rd Pontiac G6 they have repaired with the same exact problem. In addition, I have been stopped by the police twice for having my headlight out. Both times I was not aware that the headlight was out. I consider this a safety issue and I feel there should be a recall for this problem. If or when there is a recall, I'd like Pontiac to reimburse me for the repair.

The brake lights on my car come on when I am not pressing the brake. I can be driving and they will come on by themselves, I can tell because the cruise control will dis engage and will not re engage. It took me a while to isolate the problem to the brakes, I had to have someone follow me in order to tell me when it was happening. It poses a safety risk because, you have you brake lights on all the time so cars behind you don't know when you are actually stopping.

The brake lights will turn themselves on intermittently without your foot on the pedal. This happens at all different speeds and even when the car is parked and all passengers have left the vehicle. Tapping the brake will turn the lights off but sometimes only for a few seconds. I've tried lubricating the electrical connections on the BCM and I've replaced the brake lights. Both fixes only worked temporarily.

I purchased a brand new 2007 Pontiac G6 in 2008. The passenger side airbag light is always on. I had to replace the brake pads at 20,000 miles and the brakes are still giving me problems. When I turn the steering wheel, the car makes a crackling, loud sound. The headlight plugger had to be replaced due to them being burned out. I am very unhappy with this car. I am a single mother and I am sorry I did not research this car beforehand. I would not recommend this car to anyone. I took the car to the dealer and the price they will charge to fix everything is too expensive for me.

The brake lights turn on when the pedal is not depressed, causing motorists behind me to think I am braking. Also causing the cruise control to not come on when needed. This is a major safety concern and since there is already a recall for this issue with the previous year, the recall should be modified to include the 2007 model year. I have done alot of research and it seems to be a problem with alot of 2007 model year cars.

The contact owns a 2007 Pontiac G6. The contact stated while driving with the cruise control activated at 70 mph, the cruise control failed and the exterior brake light was illuminated abnormally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed where the failure was located at the brake pedal sensor. The dealer replaced the brake pedal sensor, but the failure was not corrected. The brake light remained illuminated intermittently. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 09V036000 (exterior lighting: Brake lights). The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for further diagnosis. The vehicle was not further repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 39,000 and the current mileage was 58,300.

2007 Pontiac G6 GT convertible. Brake lights stay on until brake pedal is depressed then brake lights go off. I have nearly been rear-ended several times because of this. My vehicles symptoms are identical to the 2005-2006 G6's that had a recall for the problem. Local GM dealer stated my vehicle is not on recall and all repairs will be billed. Contacted GM customer service and was told the same thing.

Recently purchased 2007 Pontiac G6. Have been notified by other motorists my brake lights don't work when stopping at an intersection, and then come on when accelerating away. Brake lights illuminated when brake pedal is not depressed, and no brake lights when brake pedal is depressed. Happens sporadically. Brake lights have illuminated when running and in park with nobody in the vehicle. I can tell when the brake lights are on during the day if I am on the highway trying to use the cruise control, if it doesn't engage the brake lights are on. At night when there is nobody behind me I can see the bright reflection in my rear view mirror if the brake lights have illuminated on there own. New brake pedal position sensor installed and calibrated at GM dealership 12-29-2010. Currently working properly to the best of my knowledge.

I have an 07 G6 that is having the same issues with brake lights, cruise, and shifting out of park that the 05-06 G6's are. We've had the brake switch changed twice and it hasn't fixed the problem. Even with the brake switch unplugged the brake lights stay on.

We have a 2007 Pontiac G6 convertible. I was following my spouse home and noticed the brake lights on when he was driving but they went off every time he braked to turn a corner, stop at a light, or slow down when behind another car. I can't believe that there is a recall for only 2005 - 2006 Pontiac G6 with this problem but none for 2007 owners. It's obvious the 2007 Pontiac G6 owners have the same problem which GM needs to acknowledge and fix (for free.)

10/5/10 I was going to have work done on my Pontiac G6 2007 base model, I was following behind my car while I was driving another vehicle and saw that my brake light were on while driving and not when stop. On 10/06/10 I went to a GM dealer and had sensor repair and brakes recalibrated. Tonight 10/22/10 at 9:05pm I was pulled over by and officer who stated he saw my brakes were on while driving and not when stopping. I wanted to be refunded for what I pay to fix it and have GM fixed it free of charge..because it's a safety issue I will have to take it to the dealership Monday morning and be charged again....someone needs to contact me and I wanted refunds for me having to take it twice to get fix, refund me for both....

Our 2007 G6 has a safety problem that results in the brake lights being on when the brakes are not applied and off when you apply the brakes. We have also experienced cruise control drop out at speed several times as well as difficulties shifting into drive unless extreme pressure is applied to the brake pedal. All three of these concerns line up with NHTSA campaign id number 09V036000 however our vehicle was built after the recall period. GM has been notified of the concern but reports that there are not recall notices or service bulletins for this vehicle. All three symptoms indicate that the recalled connector sited in 09V03600 continues to be a safety concern for vehicles manufactured after the recall period of 2005-2006. Related to, but witnessed before, the brake light problems on our vehicle I followed a G6 on I75 North of auburn hills mi that had it's brake lights illuminated while at speed but they turned off when the driver slowed due to traffic. This is a concerning safety problem that must be addressed.
