Strong Smell Of Gas

CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 is starting to have the same problems as previous model years, including the headlights blowing out due to bad connectors.

The wiring harness connections aren't a big deal to replace, as long as your dealer or mechanic doesn't charge you an arm & a leg to "diagnose" the problem.

Car has a strong smell of gas and is harder to start. I had this same problem with my G5 and GM had issued a recall for cracks on the fuel pump. The symptoms on my G6 are exactly like my G5, so why has GM not issued a recall to fix this dangerous problem?

Update from Jun 30, 2022: Problem turned out to be a cracked fuel pump. Had the problem fixed at a local mechanic at cost of $943. I find it very annoying that this is the EXACT problem that GM recalled several models of their cars for, including the G6, but stopped the recall at the model year of my G6. They obviously did not solve the problem for the 2009 G6 and should STILL be recalling them for this problem.
