All cars have a constant drain on the battery to run clock, power alarm system, power remote locks, etc. I am measuring 0.5 amps with the new radio installed. I would expect the 100 Amp hour battery to go dead in 200 hours if the car is not driven. My mechanic said that 0.1 amps is the drain he normally sees in cars he works on.

What is the normal or acceptable amperage drain?
