Summary
Part Description: Integrated Trailer Brake Module Issue Description: Before replacing an Integrated Trailer Brake Module (ITBM) please review the following items.~ 1. The ITBM does not control the trailer lights. If the trailer lights are not working, do not change the ITBM.~ 2. If the Diagnostic Trouble Code(DTC) reported by the ITBM is C10C7-11 "Electronic Trailer Brake Control Output Short to Ground" or C10C7-12 "Electronic Trailer Brake Control Output Short to Battery", please verify the wiring on the trailer. The purpose of this faults is to protect the ITBM output from faulty trailer wiring.~ 3. If the customer complaint is ITBM not detecting the trailer connection. Do not change the ITBM until the system has been verified with load simulation and confirmed that ITBM is not recognizing the load. If load simulation indicates that the ITBM is operating properly, please verify the trailer wiring.~ 4. ITBM output will not be available if a trailer is not connect and plugged into the vehicle. The ITBM must detect a trailer before you will get trailer brake output.~ 5. Please follow the service manual procedures before changing the ITBM.~ This part can only be used as a replacement on vehicles with the Integrated Trailer Brake system already installed. Do not attempt to use this module for the purpose of adding the Integrated Trailer Brake system to a vehicle that was not originally equipped. You will encounter configuration difficulties. MOPAR has developed a kit, part number 82212548 to be used for installation of the Integrated Trailer Brake system on vehicles.
