My abs control computer has failed. No abs/esc or cruise control. Dodge says the controller is on engineering hold and will not be available until March of 2024 at the earliest. This has been out since May. It is a safety issue that I need repaired. I cannot believe it has taken so long to get the part.
I was driving and slowing down to 45 mph going through Corrigan, TX on 59. The truck all the sudden accelerated pulling to the left, then all of a sudden slammed to the right and went over a curb. I had no steering control and my foot was all the way down on the brakes to try and stop. I'm lucky it didn't happen 20 min before when 75mph was speed limit. The a frame broke, Ball joints, broke rack and pinion, cracked the weld that holds the a frame to the truck, and I'm not sure what else is broken yet. My rim and tire both need to be replaced. The aluminum broke straight across. This should not have happened and could have gotten me and others killed. I am getting the truck taken to dodge to find out what all broke and how much it is going to cost. I should not have to pay for this. This should never happen and it put me and everyone around me in danger. I am still a nervous wreck from this.
I was driving on Monday Nov. 14th. and I was at a complete stop and started to turn left. As I was accelerating and turning left... the steering wheel locked up and I could not turn the wheel left or right. I got home safely, and I looked online and noticed there is a current recall identical or very similar to what happened to me. The Recall number is VB9
ABs brake system malfunction lights stays on cruise control not working some days the break lights don't come on the cruise control starts back working
There is a spring in the steering colum that allows the air bags, volume control, cruise control, heated steering wheel, and anything else located on the steering wheel to work. It broke not covered under warranty should be a recall safety issue.

The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle shifted out of park and crashed into another vehicle without warning. The vehicle was not parked on an incline. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was damaged, but still driveable. The contact called fresno Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram at 866-275-2896 (located at 6162 N blackstone ave, fresno, ca 93710) and was informed that there was no recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and sent an inspector to investigate the failure. The contact was not provided a report of the investigation. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. Engine check, traction control, anti-skid lights comes on with a message throttle control requires service. The engine losses all power or stalls making vehicle difficult to control, stop and get out of traffic. I have replaced the throttle control while the check engine light was on, it did not correct the problem. After the truck sits for a day or two all problems clear. 4-23-2019 is my third incident in 4 months.
As I was driving to work this morning I had my cruse control set at 65mph. I reached the normal point in which I turn the cruse control off every morning due to an approaching intersection and the cruse control buttons on the steering wheel would not function. I hit the brake peddle and the cruse still would not shut off. I was able to get out of the turn lane and proceed through the intersection, which was luckily green, and shifted the vehicle into neutral and shut if off. Upon starting the vehicle back up the cruse control buttons will not function. I tried again this afternoon and they are working just fine. Ever since the wire harness was replaced a few years ago there have been issues with the volume controls for the radio but this is the first time I have had any issue with the cruse control. What if this would have happened at a busy intersection with a red light?
I pulled into the driveway behind 2 parked cars. I stopped and put my truck in park and when I took my foot off the brake the truck revved up and went forward, I stepped on the brake to stop the truck, but the brakes failed to stop the truck from running into the 2 cars. As I kept pressing the brake the truck's engine was revving and the tires were burning rubber, I kept pressing the brake and the truck would not stop it was out of control. The truck rammed into both cars pushing one of them into the side of the neighbor's yard. All this happened while the truck was in park. I pulled back to reverse so I could get off the car and when I took my foot off the brake the truck continued revving this time going in reverse, again I kept pressing the brake, but the truck would not stop it was out of control. It went in a half circle going into the neighbor's front yard knocking down a 6 inch wall, some bushes and running into a tree. The truck stopped and turned off by itself after hitting the wall, the bushes and the tree. This incident caused a lot of damage and totaling one of the cars. I don't know what caused the truck to go forward while in park, the brakes not to work and the engine revving up. I believe the parts affected are the brakes, the power train and speed control.
I took my truck in 3-4 weeks ago because of an alarming issue of the truck surging forward at higher and higher speeds after acceleration. It would not stop even after braking. I had to shut off the truck. They said there was a speed control related recall and replaced some module. Both happened going 50+ mph on a crowed highway. It happened again twice yesterday during accelertion. Very scary and unsafe. I'm afraid to use my vehicle. Barely avoided accidents each time.
The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. While driving 57 mph, the accelerator pedal became stuck and would not release. The contact applied both feet in an attempt to depress the brake pedal and stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle would not stop accelerating and there was a complete loss of brake functionality. The contact managed to pull off the road and placed the vehicle in the park position. The contact smelled a burning odor and noticed smoke rising from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to bill marsh Chrysler Dodge and Jeep (408 West miles road, kalkaska, Michigan 49646, 231-258-9192) to be diagnosed, but there were no warning indicators illuminated or diagnostic trouble codes present. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 137,000. Updated 10/9/18
The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. While driving 40 mph, the accelerator pedal was applied and traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle accelerated to 85 mph without warning. The contact called wallace Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (located at 2755 SE federal hwy stuart, fl 34994) and scheduled a service appointment. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened case number: 32212838. The failure mileage was 60,484.
2013 Ram 1500. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle sudden acceleration. See also ODI 10809633. The consumer stated the vehicle suddenly accelerated upon putting the vehicle in drive. The vehicle ended up in boulders that were near the consumer's home. Updated 07/18/2017

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the switch and wiring harness failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. While driving at low speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate without warning. Once the vehicle reached a certain speed, the vehicle jerked forward and accelerated. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed nor repaired. I was driving my 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 and as I was coming to a stop. When I began to cost out onto the road I hit the accelerator the was a huge engine rev but no power as I looked to the shifter on the dash the D was flashing orange had to put my foot on brake shift to N and then wait for a few seconds to shift back into D and pull away. Had another vehicle been coming I would have been in bad shape. This is at least the 4th or 5th time it has happened and have been to dealer and they say never had any other complaints.
