The contact owns a 2013 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle in cold weather, the power steering was inoperable. The power steering warning light was illuminated. The contact called the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the rack and pinon and power steering control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Action Number: RQ23003 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500. While driving various speeds, the steering wheel rattled and the front end of the vehicle made a clucking noise. The dealer stated that the rack and pinion bolt separated. The defective bolt was tightened instead of replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.
