RAM sent a notice of recall VB1 to replace the EGR valve which can cause an engine fire and possible injury. The notice said that parts are available. The symptom for a bad EGR valve is coolant loss. I have been noticing slow coolant loss for a year but figured that it was normal until it increased. I called to make an appointment to have the recall done at two different dealers. They both told me that they only get 1 or 2 parts per week and that there was a long line ahead of me. The dealer that I made the appointment with told me that it would be 6-8 months before my turn came up. I belong to a RAM forum of 17,000 members and this problem is well known and discussed almost daily. It is not uncommon for RAM Ecodiesel owners to wait week to months to have their trucks repaired.

No evidence of any leaks, coolant smell, etc., but truck lost a significant amount of coolant that dealer can't explain where it went.

Update from Aug 17, 2019: Junk truck had to be bought back by FCA.
