I found out about a recall by fca that my 2014 Dodge Ram ecodiesel has a problem with the exhaust dampener. This is after I started researching the smell of exhaust fumes in the can when using the vehicles heat. I took my vehicle into the Dodge dealership to have the recall repaired. The dealership stated that fca is only sending the repair parts in batches and cannot be ordered directly from fca. This means I must wait until they are in-stock at the dealership to have the problem repaired. I contacted Ram customer service. Ram customer service stated that the part shipping issue is known but the 'smell' is not considered a safety issue. I told them that the smell of exhaust is distinct and obvious. They still argued this is not a safety issue as their own tests demonstrate that the levels of exhaust do not pose a safety threat--they would not respond when I stated it is a health threat. At this time I still cannot get this exhaust fume problem fixed under fca's own recall since fca has made the repair parts availability limited since fca only ships the parts in batches not based on the need of the customers. The exhaust fumes have caused me two migraines and several normal headaches when using the heat on long drives (distances over 30 miles or driving times over one hour). The fca recall is 'R04'.

We purchased a brand new Ram 1500 February 27, 2015. We've been having the same on going problem with the vehicle since we purchased this vehicle. We brought it to the dealerships attention on several occasions and have been told the same thing every time which is "yes we acknowledge the problem is their however there is still no fix ".this has been going on for over 6 months. When you bring the vehicle. To a complete stop, it jumps or shifts as if it's trying to jump into another gear. When you try to drive off in the vehicle the vehicle gives a hesitation like it's trying to go into a higher gear before you even pull off. On top of this the vehicle currently have 3 recalls on it. We should not be experiencing this with a brand new truck. We've contacted the dealership several times regarding this issue but we're not getting any results. They just keep saying we're aware of the problem but there is stilll not a fix. We do not feel safe driving this vehicle and would like to see some results! we've been getting the same results for the past 6 or 7 months and have decided to contact NHTSA, hoping to get some results.
Catastrophic engine failure @ 39,000 km. Engine replaced by fcc. Catastrophic engine failure again @ 58,000 km less than 20,000 km since original engine replaced. Both times while driving on highway and had to take evasive measures to get off highway safely.

The computer malfunctioned I.e. satelleite radio malfunctioned folowed by an electric smell. The transmission jumps from R to P and D to P at slow speeds.
You will be driving up an incline, not a steep on. The engine starts missing like it needs a tune up. It'a noticeable miss. We have another problem with the dash screen. The screen in the middle that tells you your mileage. It will start going in and out. Mostly, it blacks out. We have mentioned this to Dodge garage and they tweeked the screen but, it still does it, they also, tweeked the engine. Theyn still do the same thing. I, M worried that we'll be going down the road and the truck will suddenly stop in the middle of the road.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500. While the vehicle was coasting downhill, the vehicle lunged forward and decreased in speed. The contact stated that the vehicle accelerated independently and decreased in speed independently. The rpms increased to 2,500-3,000 before the vehicle decreased in speed independently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 14,000.
Oil leaks at the filter. Filter has been upgraded and now a year later is still leaking. Dealership is the only one that has changed the oil. It is due to go back in tomorrow, Thursday July,30th.
While trying to engage cruisecontrol must bang steering wheel hard to in gage also when hitting bump in freeway enginenstops stayes running speed lost then goes back to normal lights on dashboard change brightness at night trans shifts odd at times
This truck was purchased brand new in Sept 2014. Within the first 4000 miles of driving the brand new vehicle exhaust started to come out from under the hood and started entering the cabin, it now has 22000 miles. I told the dealership and they said to bring it in and found nothing. 10000 miles checkup I told them the same thing but its getting a lot worse so they said it was when they did an oil change and oil got onto the exhaust so they cleaned my undercarriage, but the problem would still occur. 15000 I brought it in again and they replaced my catalytic converter saying that was they issue but as soon as I got home from the dealership it started again. I have since been contacting the dealership constantly because now there is a recall pertaining to the issue I specifically have (high frequency decoupler) recall (R04). Since then they keep telling me the part is on backorder and I just have to wait for it. My truck smokes from under the hood and enters the cabin from the air vents, it gets to the point where you cant drive it without getting dizzy. North star Dodge dealership in san antonio is who I have been contacting with this issue and charles specifically from the service department. There administration has done nothing to alleviate the issue for me or accommodate me in any way. From the time I have had this issue I have contacted the fca multiple times and they tell me the dealership has it on order but can do nothing about accommodating me either. The issue of carbon monoxide poisoning is a large concern for me because I drive me grandmother around who has serious heart conditions, this issue needs to be taken care of immediately and nobody is doing anything to accommodate my safety. Please help my health is at risk and everybody how rides in my vehicle.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500. When the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to accelerate and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle position sensor needed to be updated and the emc required multiple updates. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 5,600. Updated 09/15/15 updated 10/31/2017
There is a very strong diesel exhaust smell in the cab of the truck. This is so strong my wife is unable to ride in the vehicle due to the nausea it causes her. I am concerned about the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning. Everyone that has ridden in my truck, except anyone associated with the Dodge dealer I have taken it to for repair, asks what is causing the smell. The Dodge dealer says they can not smell anything. From researching this on the internet I know numerous other owners are having the same problem and concerns. Dodge seems unwilling to work with me and I would like someone to check out my concerns and see if it warrants an official recall. This is on the new 3.0L eco-diesel engine.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle shifted out of gear and stalled. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was unable to be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
The 2014 Ram 1500 sport I bought has had repeated dash and interior lighting problems. The dash lights randomly flicker or don't turn on at all. On some occasions no interior lights at all would work. The truck has been back to the dealership three times but still hasn't been repaired. The dealership has done software updates, re-grounded the electrical system and replaced the body control module without fixing the problem. In addition the remote start sometimes does not start the truck it locks the doors instead, the dealership has been unable to find a solution. I feel that the dial used to select the drive gear is a potential safety hazard. The dial is a similar size and shape as the comfort and radio controls and placed right next to other dash knobs. I believe that a driver could intend to change the radio station or turn the fan down but inadvertently take the truck out of gear. Overall this truck has serious electrical flaws and the possibility of being knocked out of gear while driving. The vehicle is not safe in my opinion.
Traveling on highway feeder road at approximately 4:45 pm at approximately 30-35 mph. Prepared to come to a stop at an approaching intersection controlled by 3 way stop signs. As I began to slow down the truck stalled out. The light over the D on the gear selector was flashing and the dash panel indicated that I should shift into park and restart the vehicle. I coasted to a safe stop, applied the brake and shifted to stop and restarted the vehicle. I remained on the feeder and the truck repeated the incident at the very next intersection. I got the truck running again and pulled into a gas station and called the local Dodge dealership and talked to the service department who said they had never heard of this happening. This same incident happened three weeks ago but we thought it was a fluke. Weather was average for this time of year. Rainy and 43 degrees. Had the heater running, the seat and steering wheel heater on. Turned them all off concerned that they might be part of the cause.
Check engine light came on. That was 9/24/14. The check engine light has been through a myriad of "fixes". it is now 02/03/15 (5 1/2 months) - the check engine light is still on and the dealership has it in for "repair". the warranty requires that the vehicle not be driven when the check engine light is on, thus denying us of the regular use of the vehicle, which is critical in our cattle operation. The full nature of the complaint may be obtained by faxing or emailing a request to us.
On the afore mentioned date, I was operating vehicle on a 2 lane highway. When I attempted to pass a slower vehicle the transmission froze/locked into a lower gear, not allowing me to complete the pass of the other vehicle and there by forcing me to brake heavily to avoid a head on collision. I then returned the truck to the dealer whom I had just purchased from. As of this writing' they have neither found or corrected this issue.
I noticed that when I started my truck after it had been cold for a while that blue/white smoke would briefly come out of the tailpipe. I noticed it several times and took it to the dealership who said they couldn't find anything. It still did it intermittently. I then noticed that my oil level was low, and the oil pressure sensor went out. I had the oil pressure sensor replaced under warranty and added oil. Based on the excessive oil consumption, smoke, and oil pressure sensor going bad, I think there's something wrong with the engine. All my problems have been oil related!
While driving at a speed of approximately 25 to 30 mph, the engine stalled. This happened three times in the same day. It continues to happen at random up until the present usually when coasting or turning. The check engine light came on at 2,307 miles and codes P0171 and P0174 were found and both oxygen sensors were replaced. Three days after repair truck continues to stall. Has been in for service five times and no other repairs made because they say they can't duplicate the problem and the check engine light has not come on again. Invoice shows that there is a stored code, P0884, but since it is not active they will not be authorized or paid to repair the truck. The description of this stored code is exactly what I have been complaining that the truck does, stalls when turning or coasting at a speed of 20-30 mph. I guess money is more important than customer safety.
