I received a safety recall notice on 12/4/19 from fca us. It states there may be a problem with the egr cooler which may result in a fire and risk of injury/property damage. Per fcs recall "the remedy for this condition is not currently available" I don't like the idea or do I want to take a chance that this fire could happen to me and my family as I operate this vehicle. The risk is to great. Fca should be required to provide me with a no charge comparable vehicle until the parts are available and repair complete. Again, I do not want to drive around in a potential fire bomb. Knowingly driving this vehicle could injury/kill me, family, and others on the road.. I have no other choice but to drive this vehicle until fixed as I have no other truck option. Please do something. There are thousands of these vehicles on the road and fires are occurring related to this defect. Fca is to big for me to go after as an individual and that is why I'm reaching out to NHTSA for help. Thank you.

From a complete stop, depressing the accelerator pedal results in minimal acceleration resulting in numerous near misses when crossing or merging with traffic. This "dead pedal" condition lasts for several seconds (3-6) before then surging more than anticipated, often resulting in a brief loss of traction. This condition occurs repeatedly until the engine has reached normal operating temperatures (coolant >193 F).

Following recieving the ECU update for the aem recall due to emissions issues with the vehicle. The vehicle lags considerably when driving down the road. So far the manufacturer is saying that it has to do with a cold vehicle, however, I have had this happen when the vehicle was up to operating temperatures while unload and while towing. This lag when towing has caused my truck and trailer combination to start to go backwards down a hill that my house resides on. After the truck lags when the power kicks in it does not ease in on the power it just jumps straight in nearly causing the tires to spin. So far the only way around this that I have found is to manually control the transmission shifts when starting out slow on hills. I am not the only one experiencing this issue please see https://www.tfltruck.com/2019/08/Ram-1500-ecodiesel-update-email/ for more information.

This pertains to my 2015 Dodge Ram with the 3.0 liter ecodiesel engine. Ever since I got the required emissions control engine and transmission software update from Fiat Chrysler automobiles (fca), my truck's engine performance has been affected to the extent that I cannot depend on it's excelleration. I press on the gas peddle, and the engine hesitates severely before it accelerates. From a stop sign or a red light, the hesitation is such that I won't try to cross the intersection if there are any cars either to my right or left. Similarly, the hesitation and acceleration lag makes merging onto a highway a safety concern. The trucks fuel economy has also been negatively affected. I urge the NHTSA to compel cfa to reverse the software update, or fix it such that the truck is no longer a driving safety concern.

Extreme lag during acceleration has almost resulted in multiple accidents. Work commute has me turning left onto busy road with limited visibility due to blind corner and I've almost been T-boned/rear ended because of the lag between giving the truck gas and actual acceleration. This is becoming more prevalent as temperatures drop. This morning I spun out trying to avoid being rear ended while pulling out because the throttle goes from lag to full throttle with no gradual acceleration.

I am writing this for my elderly father. He has a 2015 Ram 1500 diesel pick up truck that falls under the eco diesel settlement (class action lawsuit). My dad had the approved emissions modification (aem) that was required to update the emissions control software on May 28, 2019. After the aem completed by the dealer, the truck had throttle issues. When my dad pushed the pedal to accelerate, the vehicle would significantly lag to the point of not accelerating. This is a **continuous** and dangerous condition that was caused by the factory supplied software update. My dad made a complaint to the dealer three hours after the aem was updated on 5/28/19. He also complained to the dealer on June 6, 7, 8 2019 and on many other occasions. They tell him it could take 6 months to fix this dangerous condition. The factory "fix" has now created a dangerous condition. The dealer either can't or won't fix it. Many people have apparently complained to the dealer to where the dealer is now advising vehicle owners to not install the factory aem "fix". the dealer tells my dad that factory/corporate is working on a fix.

After the emissions recall fix, the vehicle now has a 5-6 second peddle lag when taking off. It is more noticeable when cold but still has lag when warm. It has almost caused me to be broadsided several times. Also noted a 5-6 mpg drop with the emissions software update. They claimed the update wouldn't effect drive ability or mpg but it did and bad

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. While driving, the electronic throttle control indicator illuminated and the vehicle entered into limp mode. The contact also stated that the vehicle did not exceed 1,500 rpms. While driving up a hill, the vehicle did not accelerate over 5 mph. The vehicle was taken several times to clovis Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (395 West herndib avenue, clovis, ca 93612, (888) 696-0723). The dealer replaced the map sensor, coolant sensor, and the vehicle computer fault code was cleared. The contact was not sure if the repair corrected the failure because when the vehicle was driving 8,000 to 10,000 miles, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 5874636. The failure mileage was 71,676.

My truck received the V08 emissions software recall before I purchased it in July of 2019. As with hundreds of other ecodiesel owners, I am experiencing a dangerous throttle lag when the engine is cold. If I try to turn left and merge into traffic, there is a several second delay before the truck starts building speed. I feel this could potentially cause a crash. I have unintentionally cut people off because of this throttle lag and angered other drivers. There are hundreds of people complaining about this after the V08 recall on internet forums. Fca is supposed to have a fix coming according to the internet but who knows if that is true or how long it will take. The aem was "not supposed to alter vehicle performance" according to the recall letter. Obviously that was not true. This is a dangerous problem that should be resolved in a timely manor. This should be addressed by a safety recall. Some are also claiming their vehicles are catching fire after the aem was performed.

After having the aem (approved emissions modification) done for my vehicle I have noticed an extreme lag in engine response. When pulling out into traffic from a stop it takes at least four seconds for the engine to respond as it used to before this update. There have been several instances, even taking this response time into consideration before pulling into traffic, that I have almost been rear ended because of the lack of response or acceleration. A check on any Ram ecodiesel forum on the web will find many other owners having this same issue. All agree this is a safety hazard and will eventually result in someone's death. I will put today's date in down below because this is not a one time occurrence it is a daily occurrence with this vehicle.

After resolving recall for emmsuons on my 2015 Ram 1500 ecodiesel, the throttle response is lagging. After I make a turn onto a road the truck fails to accelerate when the gas peddle is being pushed. It has about a 3-4 second leg time. It is especially bad in a 90 degree turn going through a green light onto another road. I've almost been rear ended by trafficking that was originally 150-200 feet away when I originally turned onto the road. The lag is also noticed in passing situations.

After aem update their is a throttle and turbo lag that has put me in harms way on numerous occasions. When making a left or right turn the engine fails to accelerate for some times up to a block making it impossible to merge safely with traffic this has resulted in numerous extremely close calls. Both on city streets and highways the problem is in the new software that updated the required aem this problem is being ignored by fca and you how many accidents or deaths before you act?
