The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. While the driver was making a left turn into a parking lot, the vehicle accelerated independently without warning, the contact depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to stop. As a result, the driver crashed into a parked vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. In addition, the driver had to remove the key from the ignition switch in order for the vehicle to stop. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to parkway Chrysler (located at 21560 hall rd, clinton township, mi 48038). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 13,000....updated 11/15/17 updated 11/28/2017
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle lost acceleration. The contact coasted to the side of the road to a complete stop. After waiting approximately one minute, the contact restarted the vehicle and drove to an independent mechanic. The computer code indicated a high speed communication bus failure. The electronic throttle control illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and an update was performed. The vehicle displayed the same failure twice. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,300.
