It only happens sporadically for me, such as today's issue, but when I press the "Cruise Control" button the control will not engage. It can be slightly dangerous depending on the traffic around, speed, and time of day/night as you are at least partly distracted when the system fails to operate and the vehicle decelerates.

Normally I can fix it by repeatedly pressing the "Cruise Control" button until the system activates it. This can be a problem though as you need to look at the cluster to see if the cruise control system has engaged. I have yet to tell me dealer this but I will mention it during my next service.

My 2017 Ram Laramie 1500 now has only 19,465 miles and the cruise control only works when it wants to. I use cruise control a lot so I don't have to worry about getting over the speed limit too much. But these days I never know when the cruise control will work, seems like at least half the time or more that it does not work. I haven't taken it in to a dealer yet for them to look at it but will probably do so soon.
