For the second time in 3 months, while I was driving down the highway all my dash lights just came on and my truck started to accelerate on its own even with both feet off both pedals. Traction light, ABS light, parking light, throttle sensor light, and check engine light all stay on. (have picture and video) passenger side headlight also stopped working. Took to Ram dealership October I believe and they said PCM needed an update and they did that. Also replaced whole passenger headlight housing. Well yesterday December 15th same thing happened and I almost got into a wreck. Lights came on so I went to brake and pull over, nothing happened. Truck actually accelerated on its own from 40mph to 60mph. Took to dealership first thing this morning and they said they have no record of fixing any of these issues... wanted me to leave my truck for an unknown amount of time and but they couldn't get me a loaner or anything to get me to work. Said there was nothing they can do until I have time to leave it, pretty [xxx] so now im driving an unsafe truck on the highway to and from work. Kids and wife also drive/ride in this truck. (it wont let me upload the video) information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Traveling around 35-40 mph I was approaching a stopped light. I eased off the gas and when the gas pedal no longer "engaged" the transmission the computer/software disengaged the transmission without my doing. No error was displayed and the knob still showed as in the drive position. As I pressed the gas pedal the rpms rose but because the transmission was in neutral it only revved the engine. I had to pull over, manually place the knob into park, then wait a few seconds then back into drive. The truck resumed normally after that. This is not the first time the transmission disengaged itself into neutral or into a lower gear. I did not try to force the truck into neutral while it was moving. The truck was in motion on a city street. The most important thing to note was the position of the gas pedal I had just eased off of it slightly intending the truck to slow down. Last year I had the truck serviced for the recalls. Today 12/8/2020 with 7900 miles on the truck I placed the truck into service for them to ascertain the problem.

~TL- the contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact took his vehicle to harry brown's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram(1747 grant St nw, faribault, mn 55021) for a routine maintenance check and unbenounced to him his vehicle was serviced for NHTSA campaign number: 20V513000(vehicle speed control). Upon return of the vehicle, the contact stated that there were holes in the driver side floor mat. The dealer was made aware of the issue and referred him the the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the problem and the contact was informed that this was the remedy to the recall was approved by the NHTSA. The contact stated that the remedy exposed the floor mats to outside elements which can cause the mats to become easily stained. The contact had yet to experience the failure.

Multiple instances, when using cruise control switches becomes inactive, will not power on and sometimes will not cancel setting forcing me to tap the brakes to disengage. On one occasion when using the set button it reverted back to a previous higher speed and started unintended acceleration, I was able to cancel by tapping the brakes.

The dash lights go out and this makes the instrument panel very hard to see, even when backing the camera also goes dark, this happens when the vehicle is in motion and when not in motion. The cruise control does not always engage when the cruise is on. This happens while driving the vehicle. Obviously the back up camera when backing. In motion. This is not a one time thing it happens off and on when in the vehicle. I do not have any pictures as I am usually driving when it happens.

Vehicle airbag lights on startup stayed on. Dealer said ok to derive even though app said airbag a may not deploy. Issue sounds like the same issue as 2018 Ram. Less than a month later the cruise control would speed up or turn off while engaged. When all of sudden it stooped working. Disabled..this is a necessary feature on a longer trip. Lastly about 3 weeks layer when I needed the hoen, it too stopped working. 2 safety issues and its ok to drive.

The first issue was the airbag light came on when starting and stayed on since and the app said airbag may not deploy. The dealer said in Mar it was safe to drive. In April the truck while engaging the cruise would speed up above cruise set or just turn off without breaking. Now no cruise at all and I am disabled so it would be nice to have that feature for long drives. I called again they said I was welcome to call hq. Now not even a month later I have no horn while driving and needed it. This is the last straw. How is this safe with no airbags or a working horn?

I was driving on I94 eastbound highway, I pressed the brake pedal to slow down for traffic then accelerated and the truck accelerated at full downpower. I lifted my foot off the accelerator, but the pedal stayed on the floor and the truck kept accelerating. I got up to 105mph in no time at all, then pressing on the brakes as hard as I possibly could so I didn┐T hit the vehicles in front of me. This slowed me down to about 60mph slowing the truck down enough to move from the far left lane to the far right shoulder, with the truck still at 5K plus rpms, I then was able to put the truck in neutral using the shifter knob. The vehicle then displayed the electronic throttle control warning light on the dashboard. During this whole time the accelerator was on the floor and the truck was trying to out power the brakes. I then powered off the vehicle entirely. I was then attempting to restart the vehicle to get myself off the unsafe shoulder of the highway and the throttle was still stuck to the floor and was ticking with error codes reading on the dashboard. I then turned the key back to the off position and had to wait over a minute in order for the truck to start so I could get off of the unsafe shoulder. This is a huge concern and I have stock floor mats in my vehicle. Component that failed was the electronic throttle control system. Took to Chrysler dealer stated nothing wrong with vehicle. I have video proof!

On 12/10/19 the driver was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 when the accelerator got stuck and he could not slow down. The driver tried pressing the accelerator to release it but this did not work. The driver then tried to press on the brakes but the vehicle was accelerator faster than it could stop. The driver than ran head first into a parking garage wall totaling the Dodge Ram. All airbags were deployed and there was major front end damage. No police report due to private property. There is a report through towne park and hilton located at 401 North high St. Columbus, oh 43215

Vehicle has adjustable height gas pedal and factory floor mats properly installed. After near-miss accident I found the gas pedal stuck down on a vertical rib of the floor mat. Pictures attached. When pedal height is adjusted full up or full down it can not reach floor mat. When adjusted mid range though, the pedal can reach the floor mat and stick to the top of the far right hand rib. I was pulling away from a 4-way stop going straight when the 395hp vehicle maintained violent acceleration. Pressing the brake I believe stopped the violent acceleration or decreased it significantly. I needed to touch the pedal again to get to a safe place and again just touching it caused violent acceleration. Regained control of the vehicle and pulled over and found the pedal stuck to the top of the rib. Was a few blocks from where I purchased the vehicle a few days before. Their resolution was to confiscate my floor mat and for me to go to a parts store to buy a new one for my $45,000 vehicle.

Consumer stated have a lot of controls background and immediately assumed the braking cut back on the power and was very sure when it took off again. Consumer acrossed the intersection and had enough speed to make it to a safe place to pull over. Pulling up the pedal was not a viable option. Consumer forgot to determine if the engine button shuts off the engine immediately at speed.

Several times the vehicle brakes hard (as in locks up the brakes) when backing up and auto braking is enabled, but nothing is there. Same thing when driving forward, forward collision warning auto brakes when nothing at all is there, almost resulting in being rear ended at least twice before I turned it off.. at least I am able to turn it off. I kept the warning on, and it goes off all the time when I cross speed bumps or shadows from overpasses. This is extremely dangerous and continues after tsbs that are supposed to address. Another known issue that Ram isnt addressing publicly is brake squealing - there is an internal memo about it, but dealerships are not addressing it - it happens when you break lightly to slow down between 70-40 mph, but they can never seem to reproduce it at the dealer. I opened a case with Ram and they have done anything other than what the dealer did...I am most worried about the safety features causing an accident, please help! latest date the front collision warning activated when nothing was there was today. It happens all the time.

We purchased the vehicle on June 12th, 2019. After many electrical issues we took it to autonation for repairs. On August 27th we picked up the vehicle and they said the keyfabs on our brand new truck were aftermarket and caused over 120 codes. Drove the vehicle on I45 (freeway) southbound from houston tx and the vehicle turned off while in motion. This could have been a very bad accident. Driving at 60mph and engine dying. Had to have vehicle towed to tomball Dodge where we purchased vehicle. The vehicle again had over 120 codes on it. Vehicle is still there weeks later.

The contact was driving a 2019 Ram 1500 loaner vehicle. When the accelerator pedal was depressed, the pedal did not return to its position and the vehicle continued to accelerate to 90 mph. The contact had to shift the vehicle into neutral and reached down to pull the pedal back up. The contact investigated and found that the pedal became caught in the grooves of the floormat. When the contact attempted to brake, the rear wheels began spinning and smoking. Also, the engine continued to rev when the vehicle was shifted into neutral. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 300. Contact stated I bought my 2019 Ram 1500 at the end of may about 3 months ago. In over 40 years driving my recent experience was one of the most frightening. I got on interstate 10 here in houston, I was in the right lane and the motor vehicles behind me were two big rigs moving at a good speed. I needed to get to the left lane for easy pass. To get out of the truckers way I "put my pedal to the metal" as the phrase goes. I felt I believe it was three crunches under my right foot. Right at this time my gas pedal went back and hit the fire-wall carpet.was driving in my 3 month old Ram 1500 with 1840 miles on it. Accelerated to get on the highway, pressed the pedal and it clicked like gears were breaking. I could feel it under my shoe. The pedal got stuck and I was really accelerating, I hit the brake hard and it slowed the car. I got my shoe behind the pedal up high and pulled it toward me. The dash lit up "a!" service electronic throttle controller! I moved the pedals toward me like a short person would drive. The entire pedal wobbles like its broken inside the unit. I put a call into someone at the dealership. On the following day, Wednesday, August 21st. I brought my truck in to the dealer. They jacked into the obd connector and a minute later it shout out 6-7 issues. They gave me a loaner car and said this would take a few days to sort. I got a call about two hours later telling me that a new throttle controller had to be ordered and that would take about a week to get. They also said they compared my pedal with a new truck and that there was an problem. I'm hoping for a call back. This is serious! I a very decent driver, I can't imagine a woman or older man in my situation.

I have a new 2019 Ram 1500. On numerous occasions (approximately 6), the truck unexpectedly lurches and begins accelerating by itself, never stopping. This acceleration takes place in both drive and reverse. The vehicle can only be controlled with heavy breaking or flipping the truck into neutral. If the truck is turned off and restarted, the acceleration stops. However, it reoccurs shortly thereafter, sometimes in only a few blocks. During this uncontrollable acceleration, the gas pedal does not work at all. This currently has only occurred during slow speeds while driving in town. The dealer has attempted to fix the truck numerous times, unsuccessfully. I currently do not drive the truck on the highway out of fear on how the truck will react when this problem occurs at high speeds. This issue is a safety risk to those in the truck and other drivers on the road.

I was driving forward at approximately 20 mph. I attempted to slow down by letting off the accelerator pedal, but the truck kept going. I was able to stop, by using the brake, but if I let off the brake, the truck would accelerate. I drove to dealership without using the accelerator pedal. The truck was literally stuck at 1500 RPM's. a ┐throttle failure┐ message appeared on the dash, along with basically every warning light and symbol.

I was driving down the highway feeder road, and the vehicle in front of me made an emergency stop. I slammed on my brakes, and swerved into the lane to the right of me. A car was coming up in that lane at high speed so I hit the accelerator to get out of the way, and the truck accelerated at full power. I lifted my foot off the accelerator, but the pedal stayed on the floor and the truck kept accelerating. I then switched to the brake pedal, and had to use maximum braking force to keep the truck from further accelerating into the vehicle in front of me. The vehicle then displayed the electronic throttle control warning light on the dash. While hard on the brakes, I was able to work my way off the feeder road and into a parking lot. During this whole time the accelerator was on the floor and the truck was trying to out power the brakes. As I entered the parking lot I put the vehicle in neutral using the transmission selector knob, and the accelerator returned to it's normal operating position and the warning light went away. I then powered off the vehicle entirely. A minute or so later I got an email from fca uconnect that the vehicle needed service and the error that the truck gave. The vehicle was towed to a dealership.
