Car went in limp mode then in full lock down. ABS control module failed After research a very common issue. Hundreds of Ram vehicles affected. Just escaped being hit as the truck went in limp mode. After Gear selector locked car in park, I was in the middle of the road with cars approaching. Had to stand behind the vehicle and wave, so no one would crash into me. Chrysler/ Dodge/Ram is aware of this issue. They are also not releasing ABS modules, due to being under engineer review, meaning they are unable to provide a safe part. Many trucks with super low mileage, and mine has 40K. I would feel very uncomfortable to go on a road trip, if it will ever get fixed. The contact has an email with Ram acknowledging the safety issue and diligently to get the part for repairs.

This has happened twice now in the 3 months that I have owned the truck. I was driving at the speed limit, 55 mph, went down a hill and as I started to come back up the hill the gas pedal went to the floor and the rpms topped out at 4000, I shifted to neutral and managed to get into a driveway. I turned the truck off and back on 3 times and it immediately idled at 4000 rpms, in drive, neutral, reverse and park. This was on a curvy two lane highway and could have resulted in a very bad crash. The truck is currently at a shop. The floor mat was not stuck

Vehicle would not shift out of first gear. Turned off vehicle and turned back on, still would not shift out of first gear. Our safety was at risk because we could not drive the minimum speed limit. We have not been able to get into a mechanic yet, we pulled it over at a shop nearby and they are booked out so we are waiting inspection and without our vehicle, but wanted to report the issue as we have seen online that many people have had the exact same issue and they also report that it is hard to replicate, that it is random when this issue occurs. Police witnessed our inability to drive fast. Based off of how many people I have seen have complained about this issue online I would hope a recall would be made as this is clearly a malfunction of this vehicle and a safety issue. The vehicle is undriveable and we do regular maintenance checks for this vehicle. This issue just came out of the blue. There was a light that came on at the time of the issue that said "service trailer break" and "service electrical stability control", we have not tried to turn it on since we had to leave it at the shop.

I bought a 2019 Ram July of 2022 - I drove it home and pick up my dad to drive my old truck back (didn-??t trade it in), as I was pulling up to the dealership, I experienced a huge safety issue with the truck continuing to accelerate after multiple alarms were flashing on my dash - service electronic stable control, service electronic throttle control, parking break - along with others. I pulled it into the dealership and the salesman who sold me the truck just happened to be outside - pulled up and told him I wasn-??t shutting this off until we get something hooked up to it to see what the issue is.. they hooked it up and it threw a code for Traction control (I believe). They ended up keeping the truck for a week - then they said they replace a relay and the found a pinched wire-??. So this happened at 32,000 miles.. Now almost a year later, the exact same thing happened tonight on Easter while I had my entire family in my truck! Went over a couple bumps on a rough corner of a road about 30 foot from a stop sign. My dash lit up like a Christmas tree with multiple alarms popping up and the truck continued to accelerate through the stop sign! I ended up getting the truck stopped in the middle of the intersection after I realized what just happened, luckily there was no one in front of me or at any of the stop signs as I went through! I was only 2 miles from mg house, so I took it slow, but the truck continued to accelerate each time I took my foot off the break! It was like hitting resume on your cruise control on the interstate after you slowed down. Finally made it home and took pictures of the alarms that were still present. Let my truck sit there for about an hour and started it up and it shows no messages stored but the check engine light is on. If tonight happened at a busier intersection, I could have put my family in a life-threatening situation! I have to other ways of transportation, I am taking a risk and putting others at risk driving to work.

Our defrost system on windshield is only working on one side. First things first, the Vin number and the picture listed does not match our vehicle so I will be calling the the safety line to get it fixed. When googling the Dodge recalls. It popped up as a recall but I guess it-??s not on our vin number dodge yet? Then the truck automatically started smelling like antifreeze. When driving it sometimes loses power to the gas pedal and starts to slow down! The back windshield started leaking the same day as the defrost malfunction. There is no dash signal when there-??s low air in tires-??.. And depending on speed of the dodge started making like dying whale moaning sounds. When turning the truck off, it stops for a minute, but then it starts again. This truck only has 50,000 miles on it and it should not be tearing up this quick as it is. When pushing the push start on and off, it always goes into a cc mode instead of turning off Last but not least the gas tank is malfunctioning when you put the gas pump into the tank I think the gas is leaking out and you have to constantly reset the gas pump handle. Also, the tailgate is getting stuck and you cannot open it. I-??m afraid it-??s going to come open when driving. Thank you for your time. Hope to speak with you soon. The instrument cluster screen in the driver dashboard has gone completely blank. You cannot see the mileage on the truck or any of the information about the truck. I went to dealer who quoted $1300 to replace the screen. I was on the highway going 65mph when the screen went completely blank and I had no control over the cruise control. Luckily I was able to get the truck to stop. My concern is that when these screens go dead and you are using something like cruise control, you no longer can see anything happening in the vehicle when the screen goes dead. Ram has refused to fix the problem for me. This all started after I did an over the air update and it bricked my dashboard screen afterward.

Transmission automatically disengaging on it's own while driving at speed of 30-40mph. Vehicle was being driven in rush hour traffic for at least 25 minutes at the approx speed on highway. No snow, transmission was in 2wd entire time. This has happened multiple times now with the vehicle. No errors were displayed, vehicle was already taken in to Dodge for repair with no faults found. I contacted Dodge and they did not believe me. I now have video proof of the truck and witness of the truck disengaging the transmission on it's own. I did not manually change anything. I have one other video from my passenger that I did not upload this is the second time I've reported this but the first with actual video evidence https://www.facebook.com/wesley.goad.94/videos/5831564673527699 https://www.youtube.com/watch?V=fdpgq0Z1ags

I was driving in the city in traffic. I was accelerating at about half throttle or less, when the gas peddle went all the way to the floor (full throttle). The truck accelerated out of control, I tried lifting the gas peddle with my toe and it kept going straight back to the floor. I was braking and trying to not crash. I was able to change into an empty lane and get the truck to come to a stop. When the truck was at a stop the gas peddle remained all the way at the floor. I lifted the pedal several times with my toe and it would fall back to full throttle. I shifted to park and the peddle returned to its normal level. After this happened the truck will not go any higher than 4th gear now and got towed to the dealership.

For the second time in 3 months, while I was driving down the highway all my dash lights just came on and my truck started to accelerate on its own even with both feet off both pedals. Traction light, ABS light, parking light, throttle sensor light, and check engine light all stay on. (have picture and video) passenger side headlight also stopped working. Took to Ram dealership October I believe and they said PCM needed an update and they did that. Also replaced whole passenger headlight housing. Well yesterday December 15th same thing happened and I almost got into a wreck. Lights came on so I went to brake and pull over, nothing happened. Truck actually accelerated on its own from 40mph to 60mph. Took to dealership first thing this morning and they said they have no record of fixing any of these issues... wanted me to leave my truck for an unknown amount of time and but they couldn't get me a loaner or anything to get me to work. Said there was nothing they can do until I have time to leave it, pretty [xxx] so now im driving an unsafe truck on the highway to and from work. Kids and wife also drive/ride in this truck. (it wont let me upload the video) information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Traveling around 35-40 mph I was approaching a stopped light. I eased off the gas and when the gas pedal no longer "engaged" the transmission the computer/software disengaged the transmission without my doing. No error was displayed and the knob still showed as in the drive position. As I pressed the gas pedal the rpms rose but because the transmission was in neutral it only revved the engine. I had to pull over, manually place the knob into park, then wait a few seconds then back into drive. The truck resumed normally after that. This is not the first time the transmission disengaged itself into neutral or into a lower gear. I did not try to force the truck into neutral while it was moving. The truck was in motion on a city street. The most important thing to note was the position of the gas pedal I had just eased off of it slightly intending the truck to slow down. Last year I had the truck serviced for the recalls. Today 12/8/2020 with 7900 miles on the truck I placed the truck into service for them to ascertain the problem.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact took his vehicle to harry brown's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram(1747 grant St nw, faribault, mn 55021) for a routine maintenance check and unbenounced to him his vehicle was serviced for NHTSA campaign number: 20V513000(vehicle speed control). Upon return of the vehicle, the contact stated that there were holes in the driver side floor mat. The dealer was made aware of the issue and referred him the the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the problem and the contact was informed that this was the remedy to the recall was approved by the NHTSA. The contact stated that the remedy exposed the floor mats to outside elements which can cause the mats to become easily stained. The contact had yet to experience the failure.

Multiple instances, when using cruise control switches becomes inactive, will not power on and sometimes will not cancel setting forcing me to tap the brakes to disengage. On one occasion when using the set button it reverted back to a previous higher speed and started unintended acceleration, I was able to cancel by tapping the brakes.

The dash lights go out and this makes the instrument panel very hard to see, even when backing the camera also goes dark, this happens when the vehicle is in motion and when not in motion. The cruise control does not always engage when the cruise is on. This happens while driving the vehicle. Obviously the back up camera when backing. In motion. This is not a one time thing it happens off and on when in the vehicle. I do not have any pictures as I am usually driving when it happens.

The first issue was the airbag light came on when starting and stayed on since and the app said airbag may not deploy. The dealer said in Mar it was safe to drive. In April the truck while engaging the cruise would speed up above cruise set or just turn off without breaking. Now no cruise at all and I am disabled so it would be nice to have that feature for long drives. I called again they said I was welcome to call hq. Now not even a month later I have no horn while driving and needed it. This is the last straw. How is this safe with no airbags or a working horn?

I was driving on I94 eastbound highway, I pressed the brake pedal to slow down for traffic then accelerated and the truck accelerated at full downpower. I lifted my foot off the accelerator, but the pedal stayed on the floor and the truck kept accelerating. I got up to 105mph in no time at all, then pressing on the brakes as hard as I possibly could so I didn't hit the vehicles in front of me. This slowed me down to about 60mph slowing the truck down enough to move from the far left lane to the far right shoulder, with the truck still at 5K plus rpms, I then was able to put the truck in neutral using the shifter knob. The vehicle then displayed the electronic throttle control warning light on the dashboard. During this whole time the accelerator was on the floor and the truck was trying to out power the brakes. I then powered off the vehicle entirely. I was then attempting to restart the vehicle to get myself off the unsafe shoulder of the highway and the throttle was still stuck to the floor and was ticking with error codes reading on the dashboard. I then turned the key back to the off position and had to wait over a minute in order for the truck to start so I could get off of the unsafe shoulder. This is a huge concern and I have stock floor mats in my vehicle. Component that failed was the electronic throttle control system. Took to Chrysler dealer stated nothing wrong with vehicle. I have video proof!
