fuel line crack at bottom of fuel filter

Pulling up to my friends house he pointed out that something was leaking from under the truck in two spots. As my other friend joined, one got under the truck, I opened the hood and the 3rd friend prepared to start the engine (bad mistake). Once the engine was started diesel fuel took off like a sprinkler system in high mode throwing fuel into the engine compartment (lethal), onto the ground (environmental issue). Oh and the fuel system is under 550lbs of pressure from what I was told at the dealership. Now the truck was sent to the dealership and once the part arrived a week later, it was repaired. The fuel line is one piece, which the fuel tank has to be dropped to replace.

SO, heres my rant, yell and beef. I was told that the fuel line is held into place by an internal clamp. ? A Clamp?

yes, A clamp holding in place a fuel line that connects to the front fuel filter. . . A internal clamp? First Im happy to say that there was no fire. But what about if there had been a fire? How many other trucks out there have/had the same issue? So I called HQ Ram to ask questions and they said that the surveys they send out are sent up to other departments for their review in building and or making recall notifications . . . but the Customer Service Representative had no other information, names or communication information on these people?

Watch your fuel lines!
